SRX clutching Question

Ya we got another 8” on the ground today and another 10” in the forcast tomorrow.. So I would definitely agree winter certainly has arrived in our area..

Doc, Doc, Doc .. you silly guy .. You know there is no such thing as done in this sport.. Done in this sport is when you sell one old machine to make room for the new latest and greatest… Clutching and Studs are what only the smartest people do.. The rest of us have a need to work on something to improve it, make it better and fulfill our need for speed..
Well.....for me, it's those boosts, comp850's and 900r's closing the gap on our 8 years of supremacy.
For most of them, it ain't going to play out like they want it to.

That a boy, like your way of thinking.. It just a very satisfying moment in the life of a true snowmobiler when you drive by your competition if your into that kind of thing which most on here are… you go get em…….

Just more good reasons to ride Yamaha when you have access to knowledge and experience which is hard to beat… Not sure why they saw a need to put a 1” lug on the SRX but on the trails its not the best especially if their is any loose snow or powder conditions..
We have 192 studs in our SRX, it hooks great on hard pack but when the snow softens up things get pretty squirrelly stoping and in the corners.

Its a great track to jump on a icy road , frozen river, frozen lake , hard pack ice cover trail with mimimum snow of course where its safe to let her all hang out.. That set up screams top end with the right clutch set up and gearing and tune and go fast parts … But like you stated its the stopping and turning that becomes very important in a hurry. Keep it safe at all cost …

We used to put 1" tracks under them to pick up some speed for top end, but they won't get out of their own way in normal or looser snow conditions and will get killed next to a 1.25" track for the areas we typically ride in. Studs do nothing in loose snow conditions either so the 1" track ended up in the sled for about a week than came out. Great for a good hardback firm trail though, otherwise its spin city.

Its hard to believe the difference that .25 makes but you are correct in soft snow its about as effective as a crazy carpet would be, yesterday on hard pack it was working well, im
Impressed by the stock SRX, way faster then my T-Cat was in stock form, the Yamaha clutches are noisey but they seem to upshift alot faster then the Cats.
