Installation of the StarKnightMT Yamaha Wolverine RMAX Scratch-Resistant Full Windshield
Review Comments: The packaging of the products was superb. The thickness and transparency of the windshield is outstanding! The fitment and look on the machine are nice and tight.
Today’s installation will be completed on a 2023 Yamaha RMAX4.
The windshield delivered from StarKnightMT and came packaged very well.
After opening the box, the contents where packaged in a manner that would not damage the windshield during shipping.
Unpackaged all the contents and verified all were included and read the installation instructions.
As the sticker indicates, test fit the windshield before taking off the protective films.
Install the rubber waterproof seal around the windshield.
Install three M6 screws and lock nuts in the three middle holes on the top of the windshield. The icon bar goes on the backside of the windshield as seen above.
Helpful tip for machines with a roof installed, loosen the front brackets to get more clearance for the windshield to slide into place.
Also, removing the hood to gain some clearance for the bottom will help with the installation.
When placing the top of windshield into location, the icon bar is place behind the Roof Lip. The windshield is not placed in the groove of the roof. See picture above and below.
Next is the installation for the brackets to the icon bar. The bracket is mounted using two existing holes in the support bracket of the role cage using the provided M5 screws, washers, and locknuts. Don’t tighten the locknuts so adjustments can be made.
Using a M6 screw and locknut, we mount the bracket to the icon bar.
The same process is done on the other side of the machine.
Once the other side is done, make your adjustments if needed for the placement of your windshield and perform final tighten.
Last step is to install the four windshield clamps. Place the insert through the hole in the windshield. Feed the Velcro strap thru the insert and pull tight. Do this for the remaining three windshield clamps.
