Starter 2014 viper

The dealer is doing the correct repair.
Anyone can guess and say its going to be ok when doing a repair in the backyard.
The dealer has to stand behind whatever workthey do.
If they dont pull the motor and one of those broken pieces takes out the motor after the repair its on the dealer.
If it was my sled and was a warranty claim, i would demand that they pull the motor and clean everything properly
I agree made them pull my motor... only part that I find wierd is him having to pay upfront. Then get reimbursed

Seems strange to me you have to pay out of pocket. Maybe some shenanigans at play here. I know when mine went in for starter, stator and ring gear. I was into my ypp already. I signed the invoice and that was that. My dealer is in Delhi Ontario.
As far as I'm aware the only things you need to pay upfront is the trip insurance parts (lodgings hauling the dead sled out of the bush) yamaha will reimburse up to their maximum in the plan.

I am from ny that is the reason for me to have to pay. Sorry for the confusion.

I have pic that the dealer took and there has to be 4 or 5 pieces of metal in the base. I just have to figure out how to post them.

Thank You. Eye opening. Was planning on just going through side and leaving pan on if it happened to me. Not anymore. You have a wonderful mechanic. He did the right thing. Is no doubt now that it all needs to come apart. Including oil pump. Lucky it didnt shear the drive pin on gerator.

Cannondale darn autocorrect

4 days wow. Thats impressive! Sidewinder next?
Maybe I will definitely give it a look my problem is the dealer that was close to me quit selling Yamaha. I now have to cross over to vermont to get one but they a great guys also.

I have to bring these pics the invoice and work order to a US dealer which Frank's is in vermont. They submit it to Yamaha and Yamaha reimburses me. Categories carries Yamaha and artic cat. They wanted me to make a trade but it is a pain in the butt foe me to bring it to the US.

Got it. Well I hope all goes well with reimbursement. Was any preliminary approval made? Let us know how it goes. You seem to be making best of a bad experience. Well done.
