Starter/One-Way Brg Replacement 2006 VK Pro

Watched it today and it is good. Thanks Jack.

Does anyone have a pic of the actual bearing or even a part number stamped on the bearing race? Trying to source without having to purchase the assembly for $300!

This isn't like a regularly source-able brg, that I can gather. I believe it's a Yamaha engine specific part. I hope I am wrong, but I don't think so.

This one way bearing is a "sprag clutch" from everything that has been described . Used them in Deere
forage harvesters to let the cutter drums slow down after shutting off PTO power. A 500 lb drum
just doesn't stop in a hurry.
All of my fluid drive Yams have one installed in the torque converter so they can coast .
Expect these starter versions take a beating when engaging and dropping out and then
engaging again while holding key on during the really cold starts.

The google search at top takes you down a rabbit hole on how they work.

I just made my order or the one way brg and the gasket. My brg only just started to fail and I didn't use it after, so I'm banking on needing minimums for parts for now.

Site seems good, waiting to get charged for shipping now once they prepare the parts.

Slow going over this way. Parts are cheap, but the process is very slow. I made this order a month ago and it still isn't shipped to me from Japan yet, it is supposed to ship this week. I expect that will take 3-4weeks to make the trek to me after that. I didn't want to tear into this machine during prime riding time so It's not that big of a deal, but it's a good thing I wasn't in a rush.

I too placed an order with IMPEX on 2/28. Received notification yesterday evening that the part arrived at their facility so paid for shipping. Cost was almost double what they estimated but not sure if it was due to package having a 'Remote Delivery' fee. Wasn't sure if that was on their end or because I used my home/residential address but whatever. Am now just waiting for it to ship and based on your experience, it may not ship any time soon but like you said, the parts are cheap; even after the fees and remote delivery charge.

Yes I ended up having to pay an additional shipping fee due their calculate weight being less than the packages actual weight... okee. It was like $2.68, which is great, but it did hold things up for a couple of more days.

Wouldn't surprise me if they recalculated shipping because of the price of oil increasing transportation costs. I was going to order some stuff but I may wait for the current situation to subside.

Just checked more into this to see if what @Mooseman stated was at play and apparently it has to do with the carrier. My only carrier option was DHL so this was the reasoning for the increase:

Well, that escalated quickly. Parts arrived yesterday, approx 6 weeks from order date, not ridiculous considering the $$ I saved on this non-urgent project. Genuine Yamaha labels on the parts, no knock off junk. I should be into this one some time in April once the season is over for us.
