Just wondering if the map switcher is available NOW, or when it will be ready?

I have read and seen a few pics of a button located on left handlebar, where it can be pressed to change maps and it shows up on the factory Gauge. I believe this will be the best route for most people, not having to flash via iPhone all the time, as I will only run my iPhone setup on radar days for live data ect.

Questions for GAP and/or Dave:

1- When will it be available?

2- Is the button included or a separate part we need to buy? Cost? Pics?

3- Any video clips showing the stock gauge switching in action?

4- I believe what I read/saw was a momentary button, or will it end up being a dial type setup?

5- Can we hit the button on the fly? If so, how long does it take to change map, is it still 38 seconds to flash map via the Momentary button?

6- Assuming the flasher cable needs to remain attached to sled correct?

7- When sled it turned off, will the flasher cable DRAW on battery still?

8- If so, will we have to remove the flasher to not hurt battery? How hard is it to install/remove.

I'm late to the party here, got all the goods awhile back but wanting to get my ducks in a row as the miles are going on now and It wont be long til I want to start to play in this party too.

I'd really love to hear directly from GAP or DAVE with specifics....but I do appreciate info from others who are in the know as long as its correct..lol.

Thanks to GAP for all you have done, and are doing to push the envelope ahead for Hurricane and TD and the others you work with. I for one truly appreciate all this tech...Never would have thought we would be doing this on our sleds even just a few yrs ago.

As far as the battery goes, wire in the plug for a battery tender and plug it in when sitting. My Dealer wires in the and gives a tender with all sleds. My Viper had the factory battery for the 3 years I owned it with no issues while others replaced batteries yearly and had kickback issues.

Very interested in all these questions also, my sled is finally together and ready to set up the flasher. I have just been holding back waiting for the knock sensor and all this high tech stuff to come out so I can do it once and be ready to go.

Great questions Rockerdan,,,, Im also anxiously waiting for this new update from GAP, and interested to see what answers you receive in regards to your post.

I have been installing battery tenders on my sleds, harleys lawn tractors ect ect since they came out pretty much.

So are you saying there is a draw on this flasher all the time? Do I have to leave it on sled even if I don't change maps?

I was hoping to get alot more info on the flasher and stock gauges from GAP...is this stuff not ready yet?

thnx

I am getting miles on now, which I wanted to do all stock...but Im close to wanting to throw in some HP. I sorta assumed I was late to game and everyone knew all this stuff. But its sounding like maybe none of these things are even ready now?

I assumed after all the knock lite threads many weeks ago, that was certainly ready now.

Maybe if we keep this thread a the top GAP will see it and chime in.

Yeah it has been delayed. Looks like next week now and will include knock light capability along with jukebox changer. (Still not clear if we will have to pay for the button but I assume so) It looks like this will really happen this time so getting excited. As it is now when you leave the flasher plugged in it'll drain the battery because it is available for a bluetooth connection. You can see the blue light flashing when the sled is off. You do not need it plugged in all the time though.... Just to change tunes/live data/etc... I just put the tender on it and leave it plugged in. It is super simple to remove the flasher though. Mine is just on with velcro. 10 seconds to remove.

For a couple of your other questions... I understand button will be on the fly and you will just scroll through them. No dial. This part I am not 100% on. I should have asked when talking to a re seller last night. :( (He is Beta testing)

Yes, I’m excited to see this topic at the top as I have 0 miles on the sled yet. I was planning to put some miles on before flashing but I had quite a few mods to install and did not want to fit and then have to remove and install again after the flash. I was also trying to hold off till most of the updates were ready for the flasher, especially the knock sensor. I guess I will just be riding one of my other sleds a little longer.

Very cool and thanks for detailed response I appreciate it. ;)

So it sounds like for me, when Im not using live data, and will likely just run a big map most the time. I really dont need flasher hooked up. Which is one thing I was not sure of. I would just bring it with me if I feel Ill need a map change. Cant we just turn off BT so its off? This would be a nice option for GAP to work into things if possible, for BT to be able to be toggled off/on somehow. I think I read early reports that it was OFF by default and noone had battery issues, then that was changed so BT is ON by default.

On that subject.....I would think the momentary button w/stock gauge setup uses the BT thru flasher too correct? Or does it change maps some other way? If it uses it, then I guess the flasher will have to remain attached and ON in order to switch maps via the momentary button.

I do have my tender on sled, and usually plug it in when Im not riding for a few days in a row anyway.....But I more worry about coming out from the restaurant out far from home, and having dead battery....that would suck.
