Mine is identical to the above and I agree completely. I did start with the SQ muffler but the noise was too much for all day riding. Can’t beat the stock muffler for peace and quiet. I got 15 - 16 mpg. I did have the sight glass fall into the chain case which had nothing to due with the tune. Just a lousy Cat design issue. Do get the sensor and bov upgrades for more power and boost. I never saw the knock light flash.TD Max Spool 16, 3 bar tune with BOV and 22 top gear.
Huge difference from stock, power wise, and does not hurt the mpg at all. Same tune for stock or modded exhaust.
Just went on another last ride of the season, so 2600 miles this season on this above stated tune. Not 1 problem with anything on whole sled. Just gas and go type year besides the usual checks on rollers, track, etc.
Usually run 93 if available but also used 91 and the 90 non-ethanol. Yes long WOT runs.
Tempted to try 89 whereas have never seen the knock light on this 3 bar tune.
This tune is very powerful for trails and every bit of throttle makes a difference.
I like just over or under 9000 rpm with this tune.

Yes, the sq is a bit loud, I sometimes switch back and forth between sq and sm.Mine is identical to the above and I agree completely. It does sound good though, and if you have ever heard a winder coming at you full throttle from a distance it is music to the ears .
A two stroke with a can sounds horrible in comparison, like a shrieking monkey, where the winder with after market muffler is like an angry lion about to devour said monkey.

On the app, when you choose the tune, there is a button at the bottom that makes it the default tune.Eco is default. Connection to flasher and phone was buggy and after restart it would be back to Eco. Sometimes the data screen would just freeze. I got tired of trying to make the flasher connection and just drove it. Sled spent winter in Maine hundreds of miles away. I need to update my flasher and try to reflash to single tune and only use datalogging when think I need it. IMO each step is a noticeable difference - I have no data to back it up (there are more than enough endorsements here of the Max Spool tunes). I'm curious but I have no real need for a TD GPS. If money is a concern go for the biggest single tune for the equipment you are going to run. For me that means factory muffler, 3 bar sensor and Turbosmart BOV - SM MS 16. Maybe I'll dash flash - this is my favorite money pit after all.

I also learned you need to flip the phone to landscape (side) to view that default feature as well as current tune. At least with my android phone.

Thats the thing it all got wonky and I had no tune list on my phone. Only online reflash option. Guess when I have all pieces in one place I'll set default to MS.On the app, when you choose the tune, there is a button at the bottom that makes it the default tune.
I get data if my phone is vertical although phone rides mounted in view landscape.

I am going the opposite way of you lol. I had a 240 performance muffler flash and got a ticket running my hurricane trail muffler (in my opinion it is a good deal louder than stock) so now imI going 240 stock muffler. Was afraid I would loose some throttle response vs. the trail muffler but is what it is. Did you notice any MPG difference between the stock muffler flash and your performance muffler flash?Hurricane stock muffler tune bundle worked flawlessly all season over 3000km
I tuned my 19 at 0 km.
If you do a stock muffler tune I suggest to add Bov, and 3 bar map sensor. I run just the tune at first then add Bov ,3 bar and cai and it mad a good difference. I run the #*$&@ out of my sled this season!! Mostly on 270 or 240 when riding with wife I would run 225
I recently bought the hurricane trail muffler and changed tunes to 240 270 300hp to compare!!
Aftermarket muffler tune definitely spools up turbo faster it Hits like a freight train ..lol
Nice thing with the hurricane trail muffler it is just as quiet as stock just more of a growl and you can rivet the stock muffler stamped cover to the muffler for a total stock looking muffler

OK here it is. Brutal honesty here from the OCD guy. Don't forget i'm a TRAIL rider in Northern Maine.
I ran a TD PowerTrail Stock Muffler Tune for 3600 miles this year. NO OTHER MODS!
I chose TD because i have a dealer 2 miles from my house.
I ran TD's recommendation for clutch set up which really is just Dalton weights & Dalton YBO rear spring.
I run 96 studs up middle on stock track.
I was told it would be about 35 hp over stock.
PERFORMANCE:
I saw 120 GPS with 12 gallons fuel on a 38 degree day on a 800 mile belt. Speedo said 125 & Stock Dash Boost read 15.7
30mph & up acceleration is INSANE and to be honest.............about as much as can be handled on TRAILS.
The power curve is right where i want it. If it hit any lower, i would need more studs & transfer which would then upset MY personal TRAILABILITY.
It walks away from everything including STOCK Winders.
I ran against WINTERWOLF & his 240 Hurricane tune. He seemed to have more response on initial hit, but we were both clutched wrong at the time.
He also has 180 studs on a 129'' track.
He also says for trails the 240 tune would be his choice.
RELIALABILITY:
I've never seen the knock light! I've never added Octane Boost even with 87 Octane.
This includes 50 miles on a weekend lake racing at WOT. One pull was for 4 miles at 121 GPS on mushy snow..............PINNED...............head low & balls tucked in tight. Got to keep them boys warm fella's.
My belt life is now real good, better then ever. Not because i added power, but because i have my clutches dialed in. My point is, properly clutched the extra power should not hinder good belt life & performance.
MPG:
I did see 15.5 mpg once while sight seeing one day. It almost killed me, but Marvin Gaye on the iPod kept me calm.
I usually average 12ish though. I LOVE accelerating.
BOTTOM LINE:
The TD SM PowerTrail or Hurricane 240 SM tunes are perfect for TRAILS. The Ecotrail & 225 tunes need very little clutch changes also.
QUIET!!!!!!!
With the stupid power the Stock Muffler tunes make today, i don't see the need for performance muffs unless you have specific racing needs.
Being a TRAIL rider i don't want to have to add Octane Boost..................ever!
P.S1: 12 gallons of gas included my extra tank in back.
P.S2: We're talking just a $450 flash, weights & spring
P.S3: This is now THE MOST FUN SLED i've ever ridden............EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’m also running the 250 td sm flash with bov . I really like this flash.
Reliability is good. No issues this season , no knock light in 3800 miles.
Fuel mileage is about the same as stock .
We also have a few other flashed sidewinders in our group. One has the 270 hurricane flash Sm. It’s a really peppy flash and is much faster then my sled on acceleration ( not a good comparison trail flash vs race flash ). It gets roughly the same mileage as my sled.
The best flash in the group for fuel mileage is the hurricane 240 hp race performance muffler flash.

That is very helpful Steve. I don't want a tune bundle. I just want one tune. I am having a hard time choosing between PT SM or Max16. Max 16 is more money of course. I don't run studs, but my RTX transfers really well. I don't ride wide open trails much. Lots of twisties, which is why I was leaning towards Max16, but what good is early spool if I can't hook up?
I have a feeling if I flash PT, I will be constantly wondering what MS16 will be like LOL.
How much better is PT SM from 0-40 compared to stock? I'm assuming the Dalton profile helps a little with low end?

OK, good questions.
Now i see what you're asking for.
First of all i must state there is no NEGATIVE to these SM tunes.
--They DO get better gas mileage, but once you get used to the acceleration, it probably evens out.
--In Maine you have to have the STOCK muffler by law. Even if you put a QUIETER muffler on, you're still breaking the law.
--I proved this year that belt life can be just as good. The bigger tunes bring on a whole new "belt situation".
Now, about your riding area & style. I know VT well. As a matter of fact, i plan on riding VT more next year. I'll PM you.
I'd say you'd like more corner to corner "snap", but without studs it's just track spin.
I'll be honest, because that's how i roll. I do believe the Hurricane tunes have a bit more "snap" to them.
225 might be enough for you with minor clutching.
There is a dealer called TOMCAT Performance in MASS that WINTERWOLF uses that sets the sled up perfect for your needs. They can dyno your sled before & after & can dial in your clutches for how you ride. They will set your offset & go though all your exhaust & boost connections.
Now i'll compare my set up to some others.
From a dead stop, or the "dig" it's all about traction so it's a dead end discussion.
I raced a hopped up POO 800 from the dig last week that was set up for draggin'. He wheelied, got a sled length ahead for about 1.542 seconds, then 1.212 seconds later i sucked the air from his intake as i went by. Those were actually his words. We traded sleds & it was a wheelie machine. If he dialed it back for trails he can stay even for about 30 yards. If we were rolling anything past 20, it's just not even comparable.
Now on trails each corner is not from the "dig". You are moving. 20 to 50 in the corner then roll the throttle to the next. This is where the tune is EXCITING!. It's sooooo smooth, you have no clue how fast you are going until you are up against other fast sleds.
In this scenario my old Apex (which is a mid range monster) has the most snap, even better then the DOO 850. BUT about a half second later my sled just rockets away.
Believe it or not, this "delay" helps me. It makes it very driveable without being twitchy.
I was adding half gallon less per fill up then stock Winder per half tank & equal to the Apex & 850.
If they want to ride near me, they do less.
On BIG trails i get poor mileage and have to stop & wait a lot. It gives me time to take pics & send to some other TY guys that spend time in Atlanta during the season, so i guess i'm a tease. Art, SteveO & Mike have tons of my pics.
GET A SM TUNE with a BOV!
Best fun for the buck..........PERIOD!
And new underwear!
