Just thought I would share this add-on I did to my ‘16 Venture TF.
For anyone looking for that extra bit of storage, it doesn’t have to be a wooden or aluminium box stuck out like a sore thumb or limited to saddlebags that get frozen zippers.

What's that from, originally?

Hi Roger, it’s a “lock and ride” motorcycle trunk for a Victory Cross Country. I searched and searched the internet for a trunk that I felt had similar shape/characteristics as the Venture. I found this one to be a nice match, especially with the “V” shaped rear and “V” shaped tail light.
Unfortunately, as far as what I can tell, they are a discontinued accessory but I managed to find a used on on e-Bay after a few months of searching for a little under $2000, painted it to match and made a bracket by copying a friends RS Venture with the luggage rack (which is also discontinued)

2 G's!!! Holy balls. And I thought I wasted money on sled accessories.

Well, if it's what you need for your type of riding, good for you that you made something work and match. But damn that's a lot of coin for a plastic box.

Trust me, nobody wastes money like I do when it comes to detailing a DIY project on any of my toys lol.
I could go on and on with plenty of examples but of course not all are snowmobile related.
As for my style of riding. This add-on is for trips to the cabin for those times I go without the family. When it’s just me for a night or two, this trunk, along with the motorcycle saddlebags allow me to take whatever provisions I need for a weekend. Before this storage space I would need to take a tow behind sleigh (Komatic) to haul Coleman Cooler of food, maybe 6-12 beer and clothing etc.

Yeah, I get it. Again, it's for your needs and type of riding. That's all good, I'm not knocking you for it at all.

I just couldn't believe roughly 2k for it. I woulda guessed $500 +/- a little. But, I'm not into motorcycles at all, period, none. So I don't have the slightest idea what accessories cost for them. Apparently quite a bit. Lol!!

Very nice. Do you have pictures of your saddle bags, and where did you find those?

Ditto! I had no idea how much a trunk cost either. They are easy enough to find for under $300 and mine being used/second hand, I think the fact that it cost almost as much as a new one was because new ones arent available anymore.
No I know you weren’t knocking me but I do realize that for what I paid for a storage box is out to lunch by most peoples standards. I just got so fixated on that type and style matching my sled that rationality went out the window lol.
You’d feel the same way if you saw the additions to my Waverunner I’m sure!
But hey, some will spend $2000 on rims for their car or truck, I’ll spend stupid money on my snowmobiles and stuff.

Sure, found these on e-Bay after searching for “hard case” saddle bags.
Under $300 for the pair including shipping.
They aren’t a Yamaha accessory by the way. I removed the logo and replaced with Yamaha tuning fork badges.
Didn’t use motorcycle mounting hardware either. Instead came up with my own way of mounting so they can easily be disconnected and carried etc.

Looks great too! Thanks

Not letting me upload the other 2 photos I took unfortunately.
Keeps telling me server too full.
