As it says tearing down my 03 to put 05 rings, going to bead blast motor and head and paint, Was looking for input on anything else I could do especially for more HP gain.
More HP; Well there's always a ....TURBO
but for alot less you can go with a ECP Filter Kit & Clutch Kit......With a NOS for Back Up

I would change all the drive and jack shaft bearings as well. There is an update for that sled for the jackshaft collar get one and put it in also. You can also get 13mm swaybars. And while your at it you might as well order a new ZX2 suspension from AD Boivin and install. Cut out all the windows in your track and add extrovert drivers with new sliders. If you want reverse now would be a good time to get that and put it also.

Contact Fundy they have NA kits up to 210 hp for the RX, debating that for mine right now!
The trail kit is 180hp with stock pistons, block. Its about $2800 for the kit.
After that you get pistons, then big bore, then one more big bore for 220hp but lots of money.

I thought most of the HP gain in the Apex came from a lighter crank.

Maybe but there will be quite a gain with the apex cams and valve springs.

5-8 hp with just the Apex cam swap. If you really want the gain you need to port the head & allow it to flow more air! I have a Fundy head (180 hp) here that I'd be willing to sell as I've updated to the full race setup!
