That is a beautiful engine, but I think they should go to a V4. No counterbalance needed.
On the other hand, the counterbalance could double as the PTO reduction shaft.

Imagine that engine with a turbo, even N/A is a stump puller, we may just see this new generation R1 in a all new Apex, emissions may have played a big part in dropping the Apex for now, The Apex will return!!!
