Definitely not Canadian since we can't CCW here. A total moron since he should have just backed up. By yelling and moving up, he was challenging it. On top of that, he left it to suffer as it was still moving when he went by.

Why would you carry a handgun under your jacket? That is just asking for trouble some guy cuts you off or almost crashed into you are you going to have enough discipline not to reach for that gun? Kind of makes me sick and I am not against guns just have to be right place right time. That guy just whips out his glock and wastes the moose....If you were going to keep it sure but hmmmmm I don't know about that guy. Stuff like that makes me nervous about other riders on the snowmobile trail.

Where would you like it to be carried???and yes i would have restraint, i get cut off all the time in my truck, grocery line, sled'n, ect..Not going to shoot anyone for it, thats just absurd..The thing is most people dont have a gun at the right time and the right place when they need it, That is not happening to me or my family AGAIN!!
Im not agreeing with the shooter in the video, and im not agreeing with the moose..I wasnt there, the video leaves way to many "what if's" and what happened before and after.. Im no moose whisperer, I think some things could have been done different by the shooter, but im not going to condemn the guy, what if that was his wife behind him??what if he did throw it in reverse and it still charged when he hit the gas to back up..to many "what ifs" and "unknowns" for me to condemn him off a 4 min vid..

I saw the video and watched it a couple times wondering what I'd do riding with my wife. The 1st time he saw it he was pretty far away. I think I would have stopped there and waited a few minutes and if the moose didn't move I would have looked for a different route. Trail does look pretty narrow though. A couple warning shots from his initial far away stop may have also made a difference. If he would have done that and then the moose would have charged a lot of people would feel differently about this including myself.

Agreed. Like I said not having anything against guns or owning them just the video itself and the situation and the guy had a gun on a snowmobile. I mean are we in a zombie apocalypse? Why do you carry a gun snowmobiling? Or to the grocery store? I mean if I moose was in the grocery store and you whipped out you gun and blasted it would that be ok?

I always carry my gun. Hope never to have to use it, and luckily never have. I'm not saying this guy couldn't have done better at backing out of the way... but if I was attacked I'd have done the same.
Lots of people carry on a daily basis.. and like I said... you'll never find me without it.

Definitely would have backed up and tried to boon dock my way to the open area that was ahead of him. Eliminate the problem all together.
Warning shots would have scared it off also I think.
But, I am no expert..... just my .02

I had a home invasion robbery happen to myself, my wife. and my room mate, 5 youths in my livingroom november 22, 2001. I was pistol whipped, my room mate was pistol whipped, and i watched helpless as my wife had a gun held to her head and some P.O.S. stuck his hand down her pants..This all happened pre gun ownership..as I thought I had no need for a gun..I have had an incident on my way home from snowmobiling, stopped for gas and was approached by 3 youths who wanted to talk sleds and find out where i was staying. I was armed, I got in my truck and was followed for 30 miles.. they turned off..I have had my landscape trailer attempt to be stolen and also my snowmobile trailer last winter..both at my house, and everyone was home..people were on my property trying to steal what I feed my family with and things I have worked hard to acquire..
this guy lived 5 miles from me and did this at a mall my family and i frequent..

This is not a carry issue. This is an idiot makeing bad decision issue. He should not have advanced on an animal that is know to be agressive...he should have backed up if possible...he should have shot in the groune a coulpe of times if needed..HE SHOULD NOT HAVE PUT ON THE NET AT ALL...I was not there so I do not know any more then what I have seen...
If we want to make this a carry issue I have gone 45 years with not needing to use a gun in self defense...I plan on going at least 45 more...I do and will have my gun on my side everyplace I am legal to do so and avoid places I am not. And so will my wife. We love ourselfs and our children and grandchildren and will do whatever we have to to make sure we continue to be there for them. I WILL NOT EVER TELL YOU you have to carry....you will never tell me I CANT...
