In no way did I mean that's is your issue. if it was, I don't imagine it would rev above an idle and would have a codeAlright we'll give that a try & see if that works.

also, easy to check tors function. when safely out in open, use 2 hands. hold pin outward on bars and pull throttle to see what it does.

Any safety features may as well be kept in place imo. Sure nothing is guaranteed but if it isn't the problem, keep it hooked up.a couple of multimeter test is not proof that its working correctly and the older snowmobiles were plagued by worn throttle bushings, icing, etc.. I like the throttle feel of solid and I have also noticed it make an older cfi switchback easier to brake trail, because it kept the engine from braking and diving, allowing it to rev down naturally. same deal with the little 50 and 90 atvs. I will tell you first hand tors is no garauntee it will shut down, my apex had a butterfly hanging up at just above an idle, when new. rode it like that, nearly getting killed a bunch of times crossing mud holes etc...tors did nothing.... dealer said, never heard of it.. fixed the throttle body issue myself and disconnected tors many times since. Not sure why guys trying to run dangerous 200-300 hp machines are so hung up on throttle safety. for sure to be the least of the days problems...

I do agree
I do agree, just last year, my buddy had a cat with power valve codes and constantly needed to be restarted for 2 seasons before I helped. but the thought of pinning the throttle safety had crossed my mind. then he decided to leave his oil cap floating around under the hood. I watched his sled dump him off at full throttle approaching a road and shut itself down. Darwin trying his best. took an act of god to get the cap out of the throttle bodyAny safety features may as well be kept in place imo. Sure nothing is guaranteed but if it isn't the problem, keep it hooked up.

Still having same issue, tried adjusting throttle cable with no change to wot reading, adjusted tps with a change but also raises lower number out of spec. Have a tps on the way, hopefully this fixes my issue.
It's very tight to access the tps, have removed the screws but not sure there is room to reinstall, has anyone changed a tps without removing the throttle bodies?

I think it’s a wiring issue. For me it was right at TPS connector. Female pin not making contact. Exact same symptoms but random.

Maybe? We have 2 sleds doing the exact same thing, replaced tps with no change(does have full range in diag mode now) Checked fuel pressure, 45psi, ruled out clutching and fuel. We took weight of out adjustable weights and makes no difference to top rpm. New clutch on my buddies sled. no faults or error codes, did have cyl 2 eeeprom code cleared it and did not return. Would C0 settings be the issue for cyl 2? We are thinking either ecu or ground blocks?? Pulled end cap off of muffler and packing is low, going to repack muffler and try?? At wits end. May go after ground blocks if no change.I think it’s a wiring issue. For me it was right at TPS connector. Female pin not making contact. Exact same symptoms but random.

So the exhaust packing made no difference.

Does the tps need to be set with a laptop from the dealer? I was told this yesterday.

Ok it was set using the gauge but still not pulling top rpm. Down 200-300 rpm on top, nothing changes this. No, it can be done through diagnostics.
Values are 17-96

Then the TPS isn't the trouble.

No we know that, been chasing this issue with 2 sleds doing the exact same thing. Down 200-300 rpm on top, nothing changes top rpm. New clutch springs, new weights, my buddy even put a new (used with 4000km) drive clutch on his sled. went through driven clutch as well. Checked fuel pressure, 45psi. Checked fuel filter, good. Re-packed muffler, no change. Running out of ideas.Correct values.
Then the TPS isn't the trouble.
