Thunder Products (Big Venom Viper kit) with Heavy Hitters

Agree with everything NOS-PRO said, but will add the last version of the COTC I went to the Barn Of Parts for the soft start spring and achieved the very smooth take off at 2600 RPM. I now put BOP spring in everything (Terry try it...lol). NOW, that does not solve the problem with the 8FP weights in the COTC being adjustable only by changing rivets. For that reason I have went a different way with my turbo setup and away from non adjustable weights. COTC has its place and Big Venom has its place, I do not think there is a right or wrong answer here.

:)

I'm still wondering how the venom kit would perform with a aftermarket helix.
I would like to be able to gain a little mpg.

trevorl1 - I have gained some traction with a different helix angle(s) and quicker times.... Now, guys like me that are into it for competition (drag racing etc.) need to have these helix's on hand just in case. I did use a bunch of helix's, but I will be going with the stock 43° angle as it worked good.

I have pretty much every angle helix (except for reverse angles) and tried a lot of them. Now with the EVO flash, I might need some more traction out of the hole so I will try a steeper start angle.

If you have some helix's around or know someone that will let you borrow theirs...try a 48/44 or something close...but your end angle won't be too far from that 43°.

Example..... if you would put a 50/45 angle helix on, your top speed will be down because the hpr needed to pull that angle will be more. But, if you are putting down the trail trying to get more fuel mileage....those angles would work. There is a fine line on clutching that will use all the engines power and get great results when everything works correctly. (We are working with a 600cc class sled here....so to get 100 or over is awesome!)

Like Cannondale said, POWER. You need to have the power to pull some steeper angles.

Stage 4 :)

That is where I am at.

Yes, that 49/44 helix would work great for soft snow traction and if the secondary was wrapped tighter would be great for hard pack also! Plus the more power from the EVO flash will pull more angle.

Your getting the hang of this bud ;)!

How about you make a "HELIX 101" thread? Would be of great value to a lot of our modding members

You read my mind...LOL

There are some modding members here that have pm'ed me which we have talked about creating a thread with EVO Performance Flashes and clutching (Thunder Products Big Venom kit)....but was waiting for snow.

:)

Nos-Pro and Stingray, What about the 46/40 helix that was recommended for the COTC would that be a good option to try?

Yes, that will work good too, just have to take away a little weight on the tip as it might hit the rev limiter on top end with guys who don't have the flash. You could take away a lot of weight as your fuel controller setup has a rev limiter of 9,600 :)

Justin had no problem in Colorado just a little down on RPM

Any one got a picture of there 911 cover with adjuster installed? I am trying to update my old 911 cover to make it adjustable but am running into some problems.

What do you need pic of? Is two plastic washers under the adjuster itself. I just took mine off playing with weights and going to clean a bit.

Here you go.

Because I am trying to retro fit the adjuster on an older 911 cover and am having trouble getting the clutch bolt to fit. That and I cant use my clutch puller without removing the sleeve
