This makes more sense, with the aftermarket bushing we use, the bushing is longer than stock and we let it hang out the back side of the gear.74nitro. You are incorrect! Gman is suggesting the extra shim he uses goes on the inside to push the gear outward.

I got 4000 miles ,no problem, I would check the reverse acuator, loosing pressure on the gear, to tight belt will not let gears engauge fully on shift, just some things to check, gear bushing, just saying. Look for wobbleWe all know cats lack of engineering especially in the chaincase. For a 200 hp sled this chaincase is garbage hence why i and many others have had to re engineer things.
As mentioned the shim keeps gears engaged tighter. Prior to shim install i had a gear disengage at 40-50 mph horrible noise and hrll of a mess. Then all you have is reverse. Anyways 2000 miles since shim install and no issues best andmost inexpensive thing ive done so far!

Hey all i have not opened it up yet but am planning to do soon as i think my season has come to an end. I will take the time to post pictures for sure. i know we all have opinions on this and for me and others who are using the shims i have seen no negative effects.
As mentioned the additional shim keeps gear engaged more fully into secondary gear.
In my opinion and also that of my buddy who is an actual engineer this internal/external meshing gear set up is a joke for the amount of power going through it.
There has been so many problems with this chaincase design that i think there is room for alot of improvement.
This is my small contribution to this chaincase mess!

The chain case is pretty friggin strong when to you think of it, many running 300 plus horsepower on the trails with no issues. Look after the upper bushing and re lost tite the roller bolts and 99 percent of the problems are gone. We launch this case at over 400 hp at 10 pounds of boost and it takes it. Need a replacement bushing seeing how your located near me let know.

I ran a bushing made of toughmet3 material last year. 2000mi @240/270HP and the bushing is still really good! I'm actually going to continue to run it. I got the bushing from grainger and it will require a small amount of work to make it fit. Check out my previous posts on fitment.I installed a new upper gear but if you have a better bushing than the stock one i am in please and thank you!
