to those that have ridden the zx-2------

Thanks for the kudos kinger, I think at one time or another, we all help each other out somehow.

My plan is to stretch out my sled to a 136" next year and the Predator track is high on my list, although I am considering the new "Attack" pre-studded track as well. With the 35 cm of snow we received today, I sure could of used a full block track. None the less, I had a blast in the powder. I've gotten so accustomed to freezing rain in the past few years here and all this snow is a welcome bonus. I think we've gotten more snow now than we had all of last year.

rxrider, aren't you concerned about track clearance issues with the Cobra track? Especially with the ZX2 suspension?

Grimm - it's a combined 1.25" and 1.352" track. Lugs are 1.25" with 0.102" fingers for more bite. Any clearance issues under the tunnel protectors are easily fixed but cutting down those fingers interfering with the tunnel protectors. I like that Camoplast says the Cobra has the same topend vs the RipSaw :)

I have also been looking at the Hacksaw, but it's only a 1", maybe too small lugs for off trail riding.

I upgraded the track in my SX700R and ran the Predator 1.25". In Norway the '03 RX-1 came stock with the 1.25" Predator. The 1.25" Predator is a great track for off trail riding, IMO it's carves its way thru the snow much better than the RipSaw. If you ride icy trails I recommend studding it because the Predator's lugs are made of a hard compound rubber and has little bite on icy surfaces. In the soft stuff it rocks.

Yeah I studded my predator with 1.4" studs and I love it, bites real good on hard pack. We don't have alot of fluff to test in yet.

On the ZX2 I found it to ride a lot like my edge, the edge did soak up the little bumps a little better but the Zx2 never seems to fade, it rides the same over all bumps. I really like it. I haven't made a single adjustment yet so I may be able to get the little bump ride quality better then the edge. Its so nice being able to lift the back end without blowing a nut out!! I have a excell coming to, 35lbs off the rear end will be awesome!
