track clips ? non Yamaha

I have four clips with the side vertical piece broken off, the clip still tightly around the track rod and rubbber. It seems to be able to slide well on smooth surface. Do I need to replace? I would think I could and probably have been riding it like this for many miles.

What do you think?

If it seems like it would be enough of an open gap to allow the track to derail, then they should be replaced.

I was thinking about the lateral forces versus support and then realized the rubbber pillar is still there and undamaged just like any non clipped segment. So I am thinking the lateral support is adequate.
