I have a little more than 800 miles on my 2020 SRX and I just have to find some traction. My original plan was to throw a tune in but with no traction why bother. I think it is the 1 inch track so I studded it. Still spins, at 80 I punch it and spins the track with 192 studs on groomed trails. Feels like this thing back shifts fast and doesn't up shift fast enough to pull, that might be a contributing factory. I trail ride with the occasional haul the mail across a lake. I think I would be happier with a bigger lug track. Should I go with a 1,25, 1.3 or 1.5 track or should I resolve the back shifting first. Thanks, any opinions are most appreciated.

2013 apex xtx with woodys power up kit clutch work and mbrp pipe
Ditch the 1” and get a 1.25 rip 2 in there. Best trail track hands down, which is why my LE came with it. If your studs are long enough swap them over. I run 144, 1.630 triggers up the middle all double backers and the thing hooks even on the big tunes. As to your clutch, any Yamahas I’ve owned come from factory with everything set to the middle, suspension, clutching etc. I like my secondary with a bunch of back shift so the sled is right where it needs to be every time you get back into the power. Try wrapping your helix to 6-2 (80 degrees) this is where I found my wider felt closest to my apex back shift set on 6-1. I found on 6-1 it was not exactly what I like. I like 6-2 and may try 6-3 but I feel this may be too aggressive.

I put a Hurricane 175 on my 2020 LE and love it! Handles great on the trail. I didn't stud as I wanted to try things out first but have not been in a situation where I feel that I would have needed them. Will see now that the weather has changed a bit but tops I would put in are the iGrip screws. The 1.25 would just not do it for me getting off the lake to my house or in any deeper snow.

Thanks, any opinion on Rip 2 with a 1.5 inch? I think I saw that for sale too.

Will 1.6 studs hit anything important? Have Yamaha tunnel protectors, just on the sides in the back, not in the middle cause that’s just silly..

IMO, no. IF your track tension is right. I run 1.63" Lake Racer with no tunnel protectors. So far, about 4700 miles. Not a single line in my tunnel on anything. Studs don't hit anything IF you keep track tension where it should be. See video.

I don't run my track that tight and haven't hit anything yet but mine are not as tall as yours. Thanks

Whats in the 2020's for clutching since the 19's are bang on, i put on the 1.5" storm 150 with 192 IGRIPS and all i can say is the traction is amazing still pulls 115mph on the lakes

Personally I took off the stock 1" track on my '20 SRX and settled on a Composit track. I liked the lug pattern compared to the Ripsaw 2. Was able to get it for $490 shipped.
