SRX 1" track question

I suppose but once the tuning begins very rarely is anything equal, and a good running LE or SE will run ski to ski. Especially if your on anything but ice. I have both and believe me I’d love to think my SRX is that much faster but it just isn’t nor is it any faster than the two other tuned 998’s i ride with. I very well could have a pooch of an SRX though. Lol
Read what I wrote though....'all things being equal'.... you missed that.

1700 miles on my stock SRX, its my first Yamaha and love it, I was a hardcore Polaris all my life and wanted something "new/different".
My only issue has been the push button suspension module quitting, getting my 3 one installed Monday, you can still ride the sled without it, good thing ha.
- the one inch track is fine in my opinion even in some good snow, the front is heavy tho, my first 4 stroke and will probably never go back to 2 stroke.
Sounds like you'd ride what I do, and I don't "baby" it.
-144 studs from day one.
-medium windshield on cold days.
-hitting 120mph on speedo(good conditions) not sure how accurate they are.
If it keeps running like this I'm keeping it stock.... probably the only stock one out there hehe.
I'd run the stock track and see for yourself before spending money for nothing. ..:4STroke:
Cheers hope this helps.:sled1:

I have a 19 tcat, same as srx. Had a few 998 cats prior. Used to run 1 in tracks prior to 1.25s on on 137 inch 1100s and 998s.
I prefer the 1 inch track in conditions I ride in in N wi and up. We have rode in plenty of loose snow and I think 1 inch track hooks as good if not better than 2017 Ltd cat 998.
I am running 128 angled backer 1.63 triggers in my track. I’m switching to 1.86 in center with 1.63 on outside now.

Best sled I’ve had in a long time

SRX is a fair bit faster top end then its exact counterpart with taller suspension and 1.25" track. Likely 3-5mph is my guess all things being equal.
Only reason looking at the SRX, is the colors. No other SW color combo appeals to me. Red and maroon and the powder blue are a no-go for me. Most likely if I order one, it will have a 1.25 track and a more usable windy on it. A lot of lakes where I ride.

If SRX was the proper BLUE color id be on it for 2020 myself. Even with the elec shock issues and lowered ride height and track. I just love that blue. Black not so much as Ive owned black sleds my entire life and now like the pop of brighter sleds.

I actually think the Blue/Orange SE is good looking, and I can make it pop with some more blue panels. Just add the Qs3 shocks and it will be cheaper too. Prob for me best way to go as I am not really a fan of the elec shocks, mostly due to possible issues like many had this yr. Just one less thing to worry about and the Qs3 are simple to adjust anytime quick enough.

It looks OK eh Dano?! :)

I absolutely love my SRX in the trail and wouldn't trade it for anything. That being said after 1500 miles I will be changing my studded 1" track for a fully clipped and studded 1.5" Storm. The 1" isn't terrible you just don't get that acceleration giggle feeling on anything but hard, hard packed trails. I also don't feel the SRX with the 1" track is noticeably faster than any other well tuned sidewinder considering all the variables involved. Just my opinion of course.
The storm 150 is an awsome track put one on my srx from new lots of traction on the trails great for corner to corner and it holds its own in the powder time will tell if it lasts as long as the cobras do also put in 192 igrips and i have to say im impressed with the traction

How do you find that big track for clutch heat? assuming you didnt gear down for it. With the cobra having solid paddles the entire width of the track, i wonder if that is part of my clutch heat / belt blowing issue.

Clutches are warm you can still touch them though 1000 miles on the original belt and it's still .3mm above the secondary doesnt seem to be wearing very fast sled corners like its on rails with the storm 150 and tuner3's

I'll echo this - I've had the Storm for 1500 miles this year with great results. Very happy with this track for the abundant snow conditions we've had. Sadly I couldn't take more time away from work to get an abundant amount of miles on and the season now looks to be done.

Trails will be good here for one more weekend. Looks to be cold tonight so that will stiffen things up.
Glad your back Beerman! You had a month long hiatus since your last post, you shouldn’t worry us like that!
