TTs sled - Rapex and some other projects

I'm going with 151" extensions and a 5.5" set back should rock! Plus the Zx2 is the only skid I can remove the zxtend and go back to 121" for the tight trails around here. My version of a crossover LOL

I like it. What are your plans for it when you get it ready for snow? I know of one bad #*$&@ Apex motor for you....A little on the steep side financially, but you've already spent some $$ so why not take it all out. Anybody say 400+ hp and FI?

Picked mine up from the barn today ad put it at the shop here in Alta. We'll work on it this weekend. I'll probably give you a call during the weekend if you're avaliable. I need the measurements for the Apex suspension in the RX-1. I just wish somebody around here had some Timbersled or similar drop dow brackets for me.

I will have extra set of drop brackets in a week or two - I will have a spare set - either the Timbersled on my sled or the CR-racing ones I am getting

400+Fi :jump: :jump: - who doesn't want that - just not my wallet - :o|

Give me a call when ever buddy ;)!

I want to see some pics of that apex - we have waited for a long time now :tg:

Good choice -keeping that zx-2 skid ;)! You should consider a anti-stab kit with that set back

You should give Quantum Velocity on SW a call - from what I have understod they have the ZX-2 skid setup good with a 162" traxk in the apex chassie

Yep I talked to Jeff the other day, what a cool guy. Helped me out with the universal calcs pdf and they are AWESOME for custom installs, you can dictate driver pitch, lug height, etc to determine placement of the skid. I'm all set now.

My sled is almost ready i got picts coming and I cant wait to unveil the new baby!

The snowflap bracket is finnished. A little "try fitment" before its' final installment. The bracket will be welded to both side pieces and pop rivited to the top plate.

looks good. Really like the doo view. Can you tell me who bought your Impulse header? I would like to take it of his hands if he's willing to sell....LOL

I just found those measurements of yours. Didn't know you had to make new holes in the front for the Apex suspension to fit the RX-1. DAMNIT!! Oh well..just a little more work tomorrow

I finally got around to do some moore work on the tunnel.

The drop brackets/tunnel sides are 6mm/0.236inches. This tunnel is made to withstand some abuse under BOOST!!!!!!!!

This means that the OEM exhaust crate/basket doesn't fit. I have cut it up front and in the back - removed some material and had it rewelded for a perfect fit.

A big thank you to the welder for helping me out. He said it wasn't easy to weld due the the quality of the aluminium. But it turned out PERFECT

FABRICATION TIME IS DONE - FINALLY :exc: .

I have pop rivited all tunnel pices together.

Thing to do before installing the tunnel:
Welding the the snowflap bracket together with the side pices, welding the outer heat heat exhangers and installing the rear cooler

Here is some pics how it turned out after pices were pop rivited together.

The tunnel has re-enforcements plates on the inside to match up with the plates on the outside - I want this tunnel to be STRONG!

When parts have been welded - the tunnel will get some serious polishing :bling :bling

It's utterly completely totally

Great work buddy, I'm looking forward to see your sled in person. :tg: :-o

Thanks buddy!

Looks like a REALLY well built aftermarket tunnel. Let me know when you have the time to build another. I don't need the rear mount basket, so you should be done in a day or two...LOL
