You have a Viper? which model?
X 2^, love the hell out of my Viper! Love the ProCross suspension and of course the bullet proof motor. Cant wait to Turbo it (-:

Everyone wants to turbo it. Hmm tell you something. I like my ltx se also and would love a turbo only because it feels slow and doesn't hook up nearly as good as my 1200x did. And this procross skid is 10 years behind r-motion, you cant even say there close. That said I plan on keeping mine for a couple seasons giving it a fare chance.

Nope, mine is fast, 100 MPH in 600 feet. Boosted both my Nytro and Apex and nothing beat me. Dont care about other suspensions, the ProCross is ten times better that the Nytro and Apex LOL!

Im sure its fast and fun in 600 ft but put on a 700-800 miles a weekend and your arms will be longer than your legs. And yes would agree any suspension is better than the nitro. For the die hard yami guys the viper is the best thing on snow. Sorry im not loyal just want the best sled out there for my 12 grand.

If that 1200 Skidoo is so good why is it a pig year after year at the shoot out. Then again the 600 skidoo isn't nothing to right home about. And the 800 is a ticking time bomb. More Kool-Aid please.

That said…calling a spade a spade ...the cat front end is better than the doo...but the doo skid is wayyyyy better than the cat & yamaha..
I do remember that law suite ( Arctic Cat was supposed to recall all sleds produced and destroy them if BUUUURP was correct that AC copied the pyramid design) that would mean there would have been no issues with the 12 Cats as they would have never seen snow, and the 13s would have been a different design. ARCTIC CAT proved their design was an evolution of the Spare chassis, and BUUUUURP was infringing on some AC patents. If you want to get into the facts ^^^ are a little skewed I would suggest you are have a serious case of cranial/annal insertion syndrome.

I agree with you Nytros Rule. If anybody thinks this 2014 chassis is the some as the 2012 they are clueless and not worth talking further about this. Sooo back on topic I go!
Um no....theres nothing superior in design whether it was then or now.....the doo chassis was and has been a total design evolution no copying....no blowing belts..no reverse issues..no broken jackshafts....no egged out skid rails...no fuel pick up issues....no secondary binding issues..no primary binding issues....no cracked gearbox/oil resi's...no broken chains/stripped top gear's....all of which the procross chassis has had...sure yamaha has fixed some stuff..band-aid others.....keep drinking that vodka and blue kool-aid and ignore facts buuuurp!

Yamaha brought their Power Tour by our Clubhouse on Saturday, and the Yamaha rep said that it was the best turnout he'd seen yet. (And he's been doing them all)
They brought out an LTX, RTX and an XTX as well as a 144 Apex XTX and a regular Apex.
Lotsa comments on the Viper. People seemed to dislike the XTX in the conditions we had and most liked the LTX the most.
First time I've ever rode one, and I must say that I honestly wasn't "blown away" but it was a nice handling sled, power was there when I asked for it, and handling was decent.
I'm keeping my Apex for a couple of more years, then I'll see what's out there.

I have the XTX and can say it is by far the best sled "I" have owned. Now, I have owned all brands and driven all brands. This sled is incredible for handling and ride.
To say it's quick? See my race results from this past Saturday in the race section to see who I ran against. I drove the sled from my house to the track and had my son carry the clutch test parts I wanted to try. Some of these sleds I raced against couldn't hold more than a quart of fuel. 2nd place to a 1000 triple cat with mods that was 1mph more than me? You bet it's a contender.
Now, I can take this sled across the UP and back..... and still not feel fatigued or worn out. Yes, this is a high mile a day sled for me.
Plus I'm glad to see the partnership between Yami and AC. Call the Viper what you want, but it's my money in the end and my results prove for themselves

ok, this one got me curious.....besides changing the rear heat exchanger mounting, the rear tunnel design and shaving some weight off the spindles, what else is different on the chassis from 2012 to 2014. i didnt think anything else had changed but nobody in our group has a procross chassis just twin spars.
he's referring to the procross chassis...and its true...from cat not much if anything of consequence has changed...they still dont know why they blow belts...at least the yam engineers have fixed this (I hope) for you guys (although 135 h.p. isnt the belt blowing 180 h.p., sometimes +++ is)
yam has made some nice changes and improvements...but its still too much cat FOR ME...
since I have owned one...
now if yam took over the facility...hired the workers...and re engineered the procross...with thier standards...we would have something...who knows...if you guys dont jump up and down like kids at christmas for this first offering...maybe the best is yet to come...

Oh Skidoo has had design issues. The first year rev chassis where fexible tin cans. They where so fixated on weight, the chassis lacked strength. I remember stepping onto the rear end of a rev and tweaking the front ski on the opposite side. Then they quietly had braces put onto the them to beef up the flexible tin can. The flexing also caused drive train issues. Oh they have gained weight back over the proceeding seasons. No one hears about that. And still the recall for the past few seasons on the motors. Primarly the 800. E-tec starving the motors for oil. Design perfection I think not.
you are correct ^^ and they were attacked and I would never have considered them then...but now...take the 1200 doo...sweetheart and sneaky quick...relatively no issues
