The backer has the threads molded in the backer on those plastic ones Yamadog. One piece. No nuts.

The studs act like a self tapper and cut their own threads when tightening in. I believe this is why the studboy rep told me to soak them in warm soapy water ... To lubricate for the cutting of the threads

Yes. I know the guy that installs studs at my dealer uses WD on the plastic ones.
