vk pro no top end

My 06 VK PRO starts and runs fine but has no top end, feels like it's running at 2/3 power.
Can get more the 60 mph. Cleaned carbs, changed plugs. Any suggestions. 6000 miles on her.
As to the rapid slider wear, I swapped out the original idler wheel for 1/4" larger diameter ones and now have 2000 kms on cheap Gamma sliders

I think my exhaust donuts are pooched. Would that effect top end power?

it can affect it. if they are noisy replace them.

I had a 2007 same problem cause was a broken secondary drive clutch spring.

ok. i was just going to suggest a new primary spring as my et does something similar when the primary spring is shot.

What was your problem? I'm having same issues now with 07 pro, idles good but wont rev past 6000 rpm WOT
