I actually have an '07 so I haven't had much issues with the warmers. I thought I would try the insulation just because I figured I had nothing to lose.

I live in Lancaster. I ride here (usually out of Holland), Tug Hill every so often, and usually a trip up to North Bay. I'd love to get up to Canada a bit more but the two little kids make it a bit tough!!

Let me know when you head north...My cottage is in Muskoka(Hunstville area)......lots of us APEX guys there!..

What you need is the '07 sub lead. Buy the '07 bars. It comes with the new upgraded harness that changes the wiring from in series to in parallel. Wiring the grips this way creates way more heat which is why you need to keep them on only 1 or 2 bars.
You can sell the '07 bars.

I do not have the part number. The sub lead part number is in the schematic above but you need to buy the bar as they don't sell the wiring harness seperately. If you have an '06 then Yamaha will sell you the upgraded bar for a reduced cost of $32.00. Go to your dealer and tell them you have an '06 and want to buy the '07 bar upgrade because your OEM grip heaters are not hot enough. The sub lead comes with the '07 bar. All you really want is the sub lead.

The dealer put the upgrade on earlier this year but I still have to have the heater all the way on to even get some heat. My Vector and even my old SRX's all you needed was just a couple of bars like yours are now and that was fine. Do you think I may have to change the wiring around in mine.

I just called the dealer and is what they told me they did was get the upgrade ( which you said is 07 grips and handlebars, and they said that to ) they plugged that into the 06 wiring on my sled. What did you do, put the 06 grips back on? Is there a way I could talk to you in person, I could call, if possible. Just trying to find out exactly. I am sick of cold hands on a $10,000 sled. Thanks

Ordered the bar upgrade for my '06 Attak last November. Finally got them installed last week. Rode for 1/2 an hour yesterday at -3 Celcius and had to turn back cause my fingers were frozen. Same old crap. Guess I'll get gauntlets even though they look stupid. :o| Can someone paraphrase the last 30 pages of this thread for me...I'm not putting the #$%&* old bars back on.

This whole thread is about running the '06 bars with the '07 harness. So I guess it does not apply to you.

The hooks and grips are 2 piece on the 06 bars. the 07 bars have a 1 piece grip and hook. Very easy to see the difference by just looking at them.

Anyone know where the 07 bar/harness kit is available? My dealer said 2-3 months till they get some.
