The thing with Yugis sled is that it is an almost stock R&D sled as for how it was in Duluth. The spindles and A-arms on his sled was STD. He eaven rode the standard shocks in duluth...
The ones on the factory race sleds are purpose built and it looks like the front susp is different than stock.. In the pics I have seen I cant se many differences in the rear but i guess the only std on those are the rails?
The OVER tunnel exhaust looks to be under development but how can it be done with the fact that many want bigger tanks? Heat should be a conserne?
Sorry not all about the spindles. regarding the beafier spindles, they dont look as they are going to be a direct swap if ever made a replacement...

I would put a little wager on whether these spindles will be recalled before next fall. I've seen two Phazers and a Nytro snap spindles already. Not good.

hmm spindles, a-arms, rear skid all appear slightly different and again exhaust exits above the tunnel.... I see a pattern!
Is that not the "open"sled compared to the ones I posted?

Definently think that th ones Cory and Johan are using look beter and I was going to say that all of this years Nytros are developements for next year. That was until you posted Yugi's sled with the 08' style spindles. Now I'm not sure what to think. On a side note it seems that the 09's are going to have a different tunnel eh.
I guess we'll have to wait and see on this one. Although I would like to see the pics of the fracture.

Just a heads up. After my spindle got bent like a banana after grazing the side of a rock and bending the lower a-arm we replaced the lower a-arm and spindle. Using a helluva lot of arm strength on the a-arm nut that mounts the a-arm to the spindle I found out the hard way that the nut is not a re-usable nut. It has the small metal flanges that if you back out the bolt they open up. If you reinstall they do not lock into the threads again. Well, after 60 miles at 30 mph the lower a-arm came off the spindle and went into the side and grazed a tree with the ski. I was very luck that believe it or not nothing got hurt or damaged. I found the bolt in the snow 20 yards back on the trail.
NOTE: If you remove your lower a-arm for work tap the threads on the bolt so the nut can not vibrate off. I personally can not believe that Yamaha would not put a cotter key on this bolt and a nylon lock nut. THis is very dangerous!@!

ALL the pics we see of the FX Nytro in a sno-cross race are in either the semi pro open or the pro open classes.
Due to it's stock track, the 08 FX Nytro CAN NOT be competetive in the non open classes! A simple track change is against the rules in the sotck classes.

So the stock class more or less has to use a stock sled with minor upgrades were as the open class is wide open,Correct?thanx

You can run a different track then the one that comes stock, but it has to be a OEM replacement track specifically designated by Yami for the Nytro.08NitroRTX said:rightarm

So if there is a 1 3/4" lug track that Yami offers as a replacement for the Nytro, it can be used.
According to the WPSA rules.

I know this isn't what you meant, but its not WORTHLESS without pics. This thread is the first one I had read concerning the spindles and not the a-arms themselves, and since then I have seen a few more about the spindles and the area around them. Obviously, its something we need to watch out for.

How can we know that we have to watch out for it if there are NO pics of an actually broken spindle? I am not saying anyone is a lier but come on.... POST PICS!!!
