One thing that was mentioned are the price increases on the 2010's. It is called a WEAK DOLLAR, which raises the price of imported products. That was after 8 years of good ole' W. Can't wait to see what the Big O does to it - at this rate (a couple TRILLION dollars worth) it's not looking very good. Euros, anyone? Wig
yep, more inflation here we come....yayyyy

Come on now CR I'm sure there is time for the updated mono, the drivers and full clipped track to arrive in the 2010 Apex. It's all just pre-production units now so who knows what might happen when the production run starts
Also I'm sure you could let us know a little about the now to be 2011 top of the line sled. How would the EPS system work on a sled etc etc? Purely theoretically speaking of course b/c I'd hate to think you have ridden it and would not share
BTW I think Yamaha has done the right thing this year. Tighten the purse strings sit back and watch Cat go bust. The supposedly crap Apex just happens to be a turn the key go faster than all other stockers day in and day out machine. Who needs that!!! The crap chassis that seems to be able to have a turbo or s/c bolted on and run incredible hp without any beefing up. Who needs that!!! Handling issues can be addressed with a 13mm bar, a set of Cobraheads and suspension adjustments. Thanks for the constant improvements based on customer complaints. Not just for 2010 by addressing the wheel bearings (I've never had a problem) the heated grips (I've never had a problem) but also the addition of a rear heat exchanger in 2009 (never had the light come on without one) and so on down the years. Should also mention no issues with slider wear either. Typical Yamaha, burn quickly to the wear line and then last for miles and miles like that.
Sure nothing is perfect. The pricing issue btw USA and CDN is a favourite!! The 2008 Nytro front end!! The exhuast donuts are another issue Yamaha needs to address. Although I might be mistaken on that one b/c has something been done for 2009 or 2010 to stop this from happening? A flex pipe or an extra clamp in there?
Anyway we can all spend our hard earned money on what ever machine we like and so on and so forth....
Keep up the good work CR. Let me know if you need an assistant. Also when do I get to borrow the 2010 Vector GT for the weekend
Cheers.

Yamaha has to build a better rev xp, until they do prob. not going to see much new. I would think it's safe to say the engineering dept. is working overtime.
why does yami have to build a better rev xp??? they already have done that....no???

Yamaha builds the best motors, but Doo has better weight, ride, and handling chassis IMO. Notice I didn't say dependability. I hate Doos,my buddies ride them and I always end up being the one stuck towing them after they break.

Folks, don't think just because Yamaha didn't make much happen this year that there's going to be a mas-exodus to other brands! I can't tell you what the other brands have or are going to do this year, but I'm sure it's going to be a slow season for all teh manufacturers.
Just as the consumer isn't generally spending money, the corporations aren't either. The snowball effect takes a long time to melt!
For those of you not buying new because you were hoping for a new 170+ horsepower Apex's and Nytro's with bigger tanks, you will find our preferred vendor section of this site to your liking! They will have everything you need to spruce up your ride!

Pay no attention to the japanese sport bike racers then.

So, little Yuji does not count...? Please remember that he once finished fourth in X-games, in front of a bunch of americans, canadians, swedes and finns...tomanytoyz said:the japanese design these toys, but i have never seen one on any sled, dirtbike,or quad ever in my life-that could be part of the problem? lol

Well just like I called it. Nothing else big announced for 2010 from BRP, Polaris or Arctic Cat. I know it's been posted. But perhaps some of you might want to reconsider your opinions in this thread and be easier on Yamaha.

We should all be grateful that we get to ride through these troubled times. I still think the Apex is the best machine to date. A bit of setup and viola. You can get a new Cat TZ1 LXR LT for $18,799 if people think Yamie is the only one with deep pockets and short arms.
So many people take for granted what they get with a yamie. Sometimes you never know till you experience another make. At the end of the day, we’re sitting good- bad idler wheels or not.

This is so true!! I come from the Poo side this year and this is my first Yamaha and all I can say is wow! The fit and finish as well as build quality is awesome on these sleds! All have their areas of strength and weaknesses but Yamaha builds a very good sled! I think it would so some of the lifers good on here to try a different brand so they realize what they had...!
