WHAT A LET DOWN!

on the up side lighting the crank shaft by 2.2 lbs. is huge in the apex motor it should take off faster then the 09's and spin up alot quicker

When was this said. It was that lighter from the old RX1's to the new Apex. I don't think they have changed that.

Lightweight forged crankshaft
The forged crankshaft in the Genesis 150FI is 2.2 pounds lighter than the original in the Genesis Extreme. This is a large contributing factor in the Apex’s razor-sharp throttle response THIS IS RIGHT FROM THE YAMAHA WEB SITE UNDER THE Performance SECTION

Just gotta watch those nytros now since they were on a diet all year! Too bad the actual(not claimed weight) is not known yet. I dont really think it will be outclimbing an Apex in the near future. Time will tell but its down to rider weight in this one. Oh and probably who has the most ice in their tunnel! lol

Super Let Down

It is not enough that when you pay $10,000+ for a machine you still have to invest in after market products to get it right. Not with standiing crappy hand warmers and how they now function, I thought there would be just a little more pride in Yamaha to put some more pop into their top sled to just keep up with the Jones's. Thier standard for quality fit and finish is not such a big gap anymore and now the competition is leaving them in the dust with fuel efficiency and power. Just rode the Saguenay region of Quebec with an Doo XP and E-Tec and they rocked! I really do not want to jump ship but I am afraid i have no choice since the Apex has not changed much in "FIVE" years. Looks like one more year for my enhanced 2005 RX-1 Rapex! :o| :drink:

All things considered, you could almost say this is a step in the right direction. I mean they are starting to wake up about weight loss lol. But to the hardcore guys on here, I don't think that will cut it.

For anyone still looking for a ***WOW*** factor, just check the prices that Yamaha Canada is asking. Example: 2010 Venture...over fifteen thousand dollars. WOW!!!!!!

Really glad I stumbled across a leftover 08 Apex GT a few weeks ago.
Glad I didn't wait and spend more.
