What Apex model?

So, educate me on the purpose of the tipped rails? Is it for doing better skilees?

This is what I am looking for, one heck of a drive towing my trailer if it is a bust. Have looked at a few and they tell you it is nice and you get there and it is not.
Pictures, or a lack of
honesty, don't always tell all.
The last sled I checked out he talked about how well maintained, get there and lots of salt damage and oil super dirty.
This one above his pictures show an enclosed trailer which is a plus.
Hmm road trip maybe this weekend. Does he have a large ditch or something to load in my truck and save pulling trailer and cutting my mileage 50%

No idea. Just found it on Craigslist. Loading it in the back of your truck would definitely be more efficient! Let us know how it goes!

I appreciate the help, maybe you will want to check it out for me since a lot closer to see if worth the 6 hour each way drive. :jump:

Lol. It does look really clean though. His garage looks well kept snd as you mentioned the enclosed trailer is a good sign. Usually if guys take care of their home/garage they take care of their sled too.

the last foot aprox of the slide rails are tipped up I think 11 degrees this is so when you are on trail and go to turn the skid acts like a short track because the last foot or so is not touching the ground but as soon as you go over uneven terrain it makes contact and bridges the gap on bumps like a long track and it gives it the long track foot print in the powder as well best idea they ever came up with in my opinion.

As the marketing info states: Turns like a 121", bridges bumps like a 137" and floats like a 144" I love this skid as well, and believe the marketing. It may push a bit more than a 121", but I would not trade it for one for sure!

I love seeing all these ads for 7K -10K mile Apex's. It just must make the 2 stroke guys cringe! That being said, they do look to be a bit on the high side, but they may be pricing them to dicker during the fall selling season.

What is with guys selling sleds. Maybe it is just the salesman in me, but when I sell a powersport product, I lick polish that animal. I shoot high-res photos and include a link to my Youtube video with a walkaround (that's a bit overkill) But I have always had fair offers and near my asking price. As it shows I care about the machine.

These guys that advertise with the machine buried in snow, or the track covered in grass and mud, what the hell do they expect but lowball offers by the guys that can see through dirt. Sheesh. Marketing 101.

My two 2003 RXs I just sold for a package price of 5500. You could eat of the tunnel or engine. No salt damage and polished tunnels and all maintenance just done and boom they were gone. I actually miss them already. Just wanted Fuel Injection, EPS and XTX for wife when she goes, then it will be me on it. I love my 09 Apex SE and it sold me on the upgrade of the RX1s

So have you ridden a 2011+ model of any sort? I was in love the moment I pushed the fun flipper after moving from my 2007. I've said this plenty of times before, they should have renamed them in 2011. Same basic sled, but too many new good things to keep the same name. Too many folks would not differentiate them for the first couple years.

I remember talk on this forum about segregating the discussion. But we all found it sort of foolish, as too much of it crosses over. I guess Yamaha agrees with the same service manual back to RX-1's with a supplement for next generation past 2011. HA!

The only newer sled than my 09 Apex I have rode is my buddies 2016 Viper DX. I really like how it rode but love the pull of the Apex much more. I really want a 2011 Apex XTX or newer. For some reason there are very few for sale in my area in good shape, the majority seem to be northern Ill or Wisconsin so far. Might be too early here, just wanted to purchase before the Novi snow show.

Being from Ohio and getting to know Kevin, I have contemplated traveling all the way from Ohio to purchase a snowmobile from them just because I love their culture over there of treating the customer right, here's a link to one that if is still available, I would drive over there without hesitation knowing description was accurate

They have a 2012 I inquired about, miles are good however they are busy with Milwaukee snow show this weekend.
I really want to try XTX route, I have one shorty. However this 2012 it is a shorty also.
