What Apex model?

Usually ride 1200 miles a season and us being in our 60's this may be the last sleds we purchase. :dunno:
She only makes 2 to 4 rides a season and puts along at 40 mph anymore. :sled1:

When I go with my buddies we run, lets say freeway speeds, and on various trail conditions but never off trail. :sled2:
My cabin in the northern lower Michigan on the east side usually has very smooth trails due to lower sled traffic. When we do our UP trips the conditions are all over the place from smooth to bumpy especially the last two years with all the traffic from no snow in the lower.
:letsnow:

If you want an Apex XTX that is about as good as you will get.
I have always felt it is worth the drive. My buddy and I went to upstate New York to get an Apex in 07. In that case probably my favorite sled.

Check out the polish on that tunnel. From those of us that have wet sanded and polished their own, WELL DONE!! Someone had some sore fingers.
Between polishing the tunnel and sanding the side plastics to paint them so they match the hood, my fingers didn't have any prints on them! All a labor of love!

I have been trying to get a buddy to buy this sled for a couple weeks now. I have an '11 XTX that I absolutely love. He bought a Doo and has been regretting it ever since I got my XTX.
Are you close to that dealer?
I would like someone to look it over that is local before securing and making the 8 hr drive.
Mainly interested in any salt damage from an open trailer, I know low miles but could have been exposed then sat around.
Looks good in the pictures however a few I have went and looked at, looked nice until the panels were pulled back.

Its about 80 miles from me. I'm sure if you talk to the dealer they will send you any pictures you might need. I wish they were open tomorrow. My boys (8 and 4) would take a road trip for you. I deliver fuel to farmers, and we are in the middle of corn and bean harvest now. Trying to get up there would be a challenge. I'll try to help ya if I can.

It has less than 1,000 miles. How bad of salt damage do you think it could have? If you're looking for something perfect you need to buy new. Seems like it would be worth the gamble to me

I am a fussy person with all my toys and I have been out looking at some low mileage sleds with bad salt damage. I bought my 09 Apex two years ago with 2k miles and it was like new. My buddy bought a new Viper and it had a little salt damage on the outside of tunnel which we figure was during a transport between dealers or something. I just sold my two 2003 RX1s that were clean enough to eat off of them as they spent their life in my garage up north and in a enclosed trailer on my UP trips while always being well maintained. This one in Iowa looks nice but they are pictures and me not there pulling back panels looking for 6 years of salt sitting in there. To drive 1200 miles and two days I think it would be smart to make sure it is very clean. I will see if the salesperson can pull side panels and get some up close pictures of the sled. I did just get a lead on a couple sleds, 09 Apex LTX GT and an 2011 XTX in my budget with 2k miles on each in my area.

Well I spent 12 hours driving yesterday, going first to Mancelona to look at and purchase my new to us 2011 Apex XTX with only 700 miles on it, then to my cabin in Oscoda to pick up my other Apex to start my preseason maintenance, and then back home. Hoping this sled keeps my wife riding a few more years with EPS, even if just a few times like the last few years. This was an amazing find with only 700 miles, we should be good for a few more years. Now to start my shopping list before the snow show in two weeks.
1. Tall windshield!
2. Low snow wheels for rear of skid?
3. Studs, will have to research how many needed for XTX?
4. Handguards with LED lights!
5. Rocks HID kit!
6. Lets see what else........

Now days most sleds get more miles on the trailer than they do on the trail! Even oxidation from being stored in a basement with high humidity can be nasty on a sled. I had one vector with 2k miles and bolt heads on flex pipe bolts were rounded off from corrosion. Salt doesn't even get in there!

Put on aggressive snow trackers set up per instructions. Don’t need studs with 144 unless riding lots of river ice.
