What Apex model?

I sell those I grip studs. Ran them on my XTX last year with no issues and what an improvement! Installed them on a 1.5 Cross Country track for mostly traction on icy corners but they hook up well and no chance of hitting exup. Let me know, I am placing an order for some this week.
What do they cost and where do they install? In track paddles like an ice ripper?

Yes, install in the track paddles and are much like the ice ripper. I installed 225 in mine and zero pull outs in 1000 miles. You would need to have enough of these to avoid putting too much stress on fewer studs. They come in 200 or 250 quantity. Retail is $315 for 250, on sale now for $275 shipped. 200 count is $225. They come with a tool to install. Advantage is lightweight and less prone to damage tunnel or exchanger. Easy to install.

I studded my xtx and havent had any problems, and I ride hard and am a big guy. The key is using the correct pattern. I have a pattern I designed and always make my own templates. PM me if you want to stud and I will give you more details.

I have a template from doing my 2003 RX1s and 09 Apex shorty, laying it on the track it looks like it will work on the XTX. Doing a repeating V pattern down the middle like the others that took 96, it looks like it will be 114 on this sled. Just have to figure out how many times it repeats and which direction to set up the V, traction/braking?
 
Worked on sled this weekend, installed windshield storage bag and powermadd handguards along with relocating heated shield plug, then polished the sled and the tunnel.

Studding in a V is not ideal for traction or braking. Better than no studs, but you can do much better. You want to try to create as many independent scratch lines as possible, meaning the less repeating of studs landing in the same spot. I stud for traction as well as braking, but I went heavy on mine w/ 192 in the middle, and 38 on the outside for 228 total. You could obviously dial back if braking is your only concern, but 114 is a bit light IMO. Fewer studs = better chance of tear out as there is more load on each stud.

I am in it for safety, braking/cornering when hitting ice patch, and never had a tear-out (knock on wood) when studding the middle.
Only tear-outs is when studded on the outer part of the track and will never stud there again.
