In 92 I started on a 1980 Enticer 340 that I still have and ride to this day. Around 95 I had a 93 skidoo touring e 340 fan. Around 03 I got an 01 mxz 500. In 07 I got a doo 800 XRS. Next sled was the 15 MPI Viper and now the sidewinder. My whole family was doo for ever then I told them I was switching to Yamaha and was no longer going to be rebuilding their engines every 2 years for them. They all switched to yamaha and haven't looked back.

Welcome to TY to all the new members who've jumped ship from you're previous brand. It costs some coin these days to switch brands since most riders probably have their favorite brands clothing along with parts, tools, etc.
It looks like most SW owners are fairly seasoned riders who will probably forget more than the average rider will ever know about sleds and this site will always steer you in the right direction if you need help. Besides it's always fun to help others decide what to spend their hard earned money on
I'm pretty sure that being able to buy a factory designed turbo motor has been the biggest factor in the interest in the SW. It's hard to believe all of the aftermarket interest and development going into this new motor.
Thanks jtmetal for starting this thread. Yamaha and Arctic Cat have a lot riding on this new platform. Lets hope that the new SW series pans out this season without any serious growing pains for those of us who stepped up to the plate to buy one in it's first year.
It's a good time to be a snowmobiler.

My dad bought my first sled for $25. It was an AMF. Square & UGLY! I painted it with a brush. I was 6. My next sled was an Evinrude. My dad paid $50 & again we fixed it up together. It had a 20'' track! That's why my dad got it for me so i couldn't tip over. LOL. We could ride ALL day in a little corn field. We used to race laps around tobacco fields until we ran out of gas. I need to call my dad....

If my dad new knew i paid over $15,000 for this sled, he might cut me out of the will. I better call him back & suck up a little more...

2015 Cat 7000. This model sled had NO TCL bracket on it compared to other Cat models. The root of many clutching issues for cat was/is the TCL bracket IMHO.
Once you go four stroke you don't go back!
Great guys with a lot of knowledge on this site. Thanks

Too many Ski Doo's to list...I also had a 2013 Nytro XTX and quite frankly my wife and I did not care for it so It got replaced with another Ski Doo..I am really hoping that these Yami Cat's bring all day comfort to the table as the Nytro was the most uncomfortable sled I had ever been on.

I also did not like the Nytro i rode. The first year gave Yamaha a black eye. Once dialed in & rode the way it was needed, it could be a GREAT sled. BUT the average JOE hated them...

well there are pics of me floating around at 5yrs old riding a 1979 et250. was pissed when my dad gave the sled away to a punk who blew it up in one weekend.
rode yamahas all my life other than a polaris my dad bought because they would not drop $100 on a bravo that year and a scandic that was bought to replace my dads et340t that was stolen.
bought my 1st yamaha new in 1999 as nos 1997 et410t/r whitch i still have. then got nos 01 sx500r and fuel milage kind of forced me to a nos 05 rx war whitch i rode until i bought my nos 11 apex xtx new in 2013. more reliable than the 2 family odballs my dad bought and all my siblings ride yamaha 2.
