Last year Wisconsin did not have trail pass stickers for sale. You paid the fee and they mailed you one. Are they doing that again this year??.... I didn’t like riding without the sticker on the windshield. Made me feel like it was an excuse for DNR to stop me and check me out.

That's the way it worked for me last year. I guess you could get it early and have the sticker by the time the trails open.

I don’t care about the price..what I don’t like is the fact that when I go up Wisconsin to ride I don’t have a sticker on my windshield. I don’t want to have to plan in advance to have one, even tho now I have to....Call me parinoid, but this seems purposely planned to be able to stop out of staters because the vast majority of them will not have a sticker displayed on their windshield because they just bought their pass in state.

It’s not about me...it’s about the reasons behind not giving stickers out when out of staters come to ride in Wisconsin.

Ok......you're paranoid. JK!

DNR has been pretty cool to me. I don't have Illinois State registration on neither sled. Sometimes I forget to put Wis trail stickers on. I tell them the stickers are in my room. Which I'm not lying.

Had one bad episode 5yrs ago (DNR guy and myself were having a bad day.) Again....my fault.

Whatever.....

Wis DNR and most of the agents are a$$holes. I have had quite a few issues with them and all I will say is I refuse to stop anymore. If they have the trail blocked I simply turn around. They give me a ticket for having a turbo on my sled, said I had illegally modified the exhaust system. We were originally pulled over for speeding, my buddy was radared at 61mph, a whopping 6mph over. They tried to give me a ticket also but I argued and said I was behind him and you never actually put the gun on me. That's when I received the modified exaust ticket. So needless to say if they want to ticket me in the future they will have to run me down.

As far as the stickers go...they make it hard to obtain a sticker for a reason. You figure it out.
Michigan stickers are available everywhere go figure.

I don’t get the issue. If you Snowmobile and live in Illinois or Iowa or Ohio or any other state and ride Wisconsin I’d say you know well before you arrive that you will be going yet again that season. Takes less than 5 minutes to purchase on dnr website. People have spent more time complaining here about the sticker than it takes to preorder and not have to worry about it

IDK.....getting chased by the DNR for not having a sticker is a rush.
"Sorry, bud. Didn't see you back there!" Lol

Oh I have a sticker, it helps support the clubs!

Another friend of mine was ticketed for going off the trail, literally 15 feet off the trail. Tracks everywhere you couldn't even tell really where the trail was. It's a spot they sit at because everyone does it. But it's not even private property, it's a fricking ditch next to the road. A warning would surfice.

They have totally wrecked Crusier Fest with decibel checks and bogus tickets. So far they have stayed away from St.Germain radar run, but that will be next I suppose.

As of yet there's been no need to reply "Sorry didn't see you" :)

Fyi.....
Ok, so I got on the Wisconsin DNR site 2 weeks ago. Ordered my trail passes and received them in the mail yesterday.

They are quick about mailing out the passes but I do believe you can get them at any DNR station that print out hunting licenses. Mobil 310 by me is one. Most gas stations north of Greenbay also do that. I know TA Motorsports does them also. I agree though should be like MI where they are printed already.

Cannondale,
Yeah, it's hit or miss. Part of the fun was the ride up. Bunch of us unloading the sleds in the Northwoods. Then head over to the gas station to fuel up and get a trail pass.

Man, those we're the good old days. My one eye is starting to get all watered up. I have to go.......
