Engine tuner has comments regarding your exact question.
"This link Removed per site rules., Sorry."
Where would I find Engine Tuner or that info/thread?

Main reason I posted the link was so that folks could see the warning in the tuner's opinion about not spinning the motor backwards. Hope some will chime in after reading it so I can understand more about it. I couldn't find info on that subject after searching here at TY. There is another forum on the internet for hardcore sledders that has a thread titled:Where would I find Engine Tuner or that info/thread?

Thanks again Mr Sled.

It looks like it was posted by Turbo Dynamics and if I recall, he posted that on TY4 as well.

Gave in part way through the year and bought an LTX-SE and even without the QS3 shocks it is leaps ahead of my 12 procross. With a little clutching and tuning it is unreal fast and fun.

Yes I read The TD summary concerning the new 998 and was quite surprised about the warning of not turning the engine over backwards!! WOW very nice to know huh??? Forward only from now on!

Sorry but not me, my RTX LE is for sale, spring ordered an XRS 850 Gade (as did 3 of my buddies). Why? 1)Too heavy, requires too much work to ride aggressively. 2) Shocks are good but not as good as my KYB 40's on my 15 XRS Doo. 3) Too stiff in studders and too soft in woops no matter how I adjust the suspension. 4) Transfer sucks. 5) Too much feed back in the handle bars and I have the springs all the way out and lowest compression (#1).
So to sum up: Fastest sled and most pull I've ever had but unfortunately doesn't like corners or bumps . . . . . . . let the bashing begin!
No bashing here, really don't care what you like or want, just what I like and want, and I hope your next sled turns out to be just what you wanted. I do agree with your comments, there is a diff between the 2 smokes and 4 strokes and lighter sleds do allow to be thrown around much easier and of course handle the bumps better, but this sidewinder is by far the best 4 stroke yet in speed, handling and soaking up bumps. Plus it is the best looking of all in my opinion!!
Good luck and thanks for your honesty and keep up the passion for the sport.

Spent my last 25yrs on 2strokes. No problems whatsoever. Love them. Been wanting to switch to 4stroke last couple years. I'm very glad I waited for the winder.
My first ride, I knew it was special. My thoughts nearing the end if the season.....I gave up nothing, by joining the 4stroke family.
Sidewinder is the real deal. But honestly.....I'm sure the XCR/XRS are just as enjoyable.....Without the top end rush of the turbo, of course.

"No problems what so ever" that is some kind of luck or you baby your sleds and do not add mods. Which is it?
I have owned way too many 2 strokes to list and enjoyed almost all of them, but also blew up most of them, Doos, yami, cats.

I really like my Sidewinder a lot. Maybe it's because I like 4 strokes over 2 strokes. I have had a Apex, Nytro and many 1200 Doo's and my Sidewinder is by far the best 4 stroke yet. 2 stroke guys may prefer the lighter sleds but not me. The SW handles awesome and takes the big bumps and small bumps great. The comment that baffles me is the one someone said about too much feedback through the handlebars. That is absolutely absurd since the Cat front end isolates all the trail junk much better than any Doo front. I've had many new late model Doo's and the one thing I don't like is how I feel every ripple in the trail through the handle bars.

Rode a turbo axys poo side by side with my winder and the power the winder makes can't be matched even a boosted 2 stroke can't compete if anyone says an 800 or 850 is just as fast they are lying. I don't trail ride much mostly off trail experience but this is the first yamaha I can truly go anywhere with! My Polaris mountain sled is now replaced by my BTX.

I would buy another SideWinder again. I'm super impressed with this new sled. I've got a couple of Apex's in the stable and they've been great sleds over the years. I'm not sure if the SideWinder is ever going to replace the Apex as a pure Yamaha built sled but it offers something new and exciting to drive over the tried and true pure Yamaha Apex. They both have their strength's and weakness's. 2018 is looming large for the Apex faithful to pony up and order the last of the Apex's. For anyone who's looking to increase the fun factor it's going to be hard to look past the SideWinder.
Finally the voice of reason! No bashing here, really don't care what you like or want, just what I like and want, and I hope your next sled turns out to be just what you wanted.
