Wow its snowing

How you liking your Sidewinders compared to the 850 you had last year? Those trails look perfect for a Winder.

It’s like driving a muscle car from 1970. In a straight line there is nothing in the world like it. Of course, the Sidewinder seat is a lot more comfortable than the seats were in muscle cars. Turning at speed sucks, and that’s got everything to do with the nickel and dime skis Yamaha peddles. Of course, I can $$$ always replace the skis on a $20,000 sled, so I gain competent handling. The fit and finish is better than the 850, but the 850 was a lot more fun in the twisties.....
I’m not impressed with Yamaha Canada or the dealership that sold me the Sidewinders. Enough said about that. Onward and upward, in a very fast straight line of course....

The skis are the weak link for sure. I love the way my Winder handles with the 6.9 skis compared to my 1200 Doo's. The sled is transformed with different skis. I feel the Winder turns awesome at speed.

When I bought my sled I put 0 miles on tuners. Put a set of C&A Razors and handles great.

Just sent my parts/accessories to my dealer in Caribou, Maine...and among the parts were a new set of Pilots for my RTX 50th. Not gonna even mess around with the stock skis. ..too many nightmare stories on here, and how the pilots transform this sled into a fab machine.

Had them on my Apex too and loved the way it made that sled rail compared to the stock junk skis they put on it 10-11 years ago. Come on Yamaha...get the ski act together for heaven sakes!

I hear 'ya. The greatest engine maker in the world can't put a descent ski on. Do they test them? My Tuners were good for 50 turns until i went flying right through a corner! Sharted myself, sucked in my pride, tucked my tail between my legs & blamed it on a squirrel in the trail. Too unpredictable.
I also had Pilot's on my Ape with recommendations from this site. I found Snowtrackers to be just as good, but it took aftermarket NOT Yamaha to find a solution.
Not bashing the Big Y as i'm wondering, "Do they test these ski's?"...now back to Finesy's teasing & taunting the weak

Yeah 60° here today. Thinking about taking the Harley for a quick one.

Good idea.
I need to try my new Castle helmet anyways.
The difference between you & i is, i ride a 3 cylinder Yamaha motor even on my bike...it's easier to pretend i'm on the 'Winder
