XS 825 shakedown

Could you please explain just where is the "back of the weight".

I would bet you would be at over 9k with MS 16 being it is 10-20 more than Powertrail’s supposed 250. If you went to a lower rate spring than the stiff orange TP I use it would probably work.

Went out for my first ride of the season today. Stock everything with a 500 mile 8JP on. 8,650 RPM at WFO reading 109 MPH.

I will be trying my XS belt once the trail conditions improve.

XS belt will likely make RPM even lower. 8650 is too slow and with XS it will be lower. Gonna have to lighten weights up.

I was finally able to get out with my machine, and after 30/40 break in miles on the XS, completely stock 18 LTX, I was able to get to 8750 on full throttle, a tad low, but I think it will settle in a bit and I should see the magic 8800 at some point. I was surprised I wasn’t down the 400/600 RPM’s some have seen? This belt definitely seems ‘bitier’ then 8JP too.

Are you looking at the max RPM recall, or watching the tach as your moving?

Here’s the deal. If yer slipping with the 8JP or 8DN and switch to the XS belt (that sticks better) your rpm will drop significantly. If yer not slipping with the harder belts then the drop is less. I only had about a 250 rpm difference, if that when I switched.

This year I have only run the xs825 belt.
Most of the time on the 270r tune and one ride on the 290r tune. So far about 700 miles on belt.
I can't confirm that the belt fixed my belt issues as I had my tunnel bowed up and letting snow in the engine compartment from over the top of the heat exchanger. After fixing that it seems my belt issues are gone. May have to go back and revisit the 8dn belt to see how it reacts now.
But for now just going to see how far this xs825 belt will run on the 270r tune.

The XS belt is still doing great. Very consistent clutching with the stock weights and Powertrail. Put another 80 miles on it yesterday . I did find a place to finally run it up to 120 on the speedo before letting off . Pulls nice up top. Boost was 15.7 to 15.9 on the meter. Stock BOV seems to be holding pressure fine.
Also got a chance to ride and race a friends 205 hp Hurricane 900 TDoo. Nice sled with good power but not Sidewinder power . Traction was terrible yesterday so we only did rolling starts. I could check out pretty easily from him after 60mph or so. He went home depressed because he thought he would give me a race. Lol

Dont forget to remove and inspect your belt after each ride. 850 miles on this xs825 belt.
