8jp, 35° helix, stock primary, Dalton's @ 72g, Dalton Blk/Org = 8950 (for me)
How much do the stock arms weigh?

Can't directly compare weight as they don't have the same profile.MS16

@rtx moose I ran modified stock weights in my sled with the stock muffler bundle(up to 160hp) until they wore out at 12000kms.
I had added a few grams to them, but my revs were usually 87-8800ish

Yes you can. I have for 4,000 miles with an XS825 belt.Someone chime in having stock weights for ms16..can I use stock weights?
I can’t predict what it will rev with the 8JP.

What is the process? Remove the weights, drill out the stock rivets, and install heavier rivets with a rivet gun?FYI, Hauck powersports offers a 5.9 gram rivet if you want to add more weight.
As I understand it, the heaviest Yamaha rivet is 4.5g.

Install heavier rivet by holding it sideways on anvil or vise, and using a hammer! What is the process? Remove the weights, drill out the stock rivets, and install heavier rivets with a rivet gun?

Thanks. What kind of RPM drop would you estimate if I replaced the 4.5 with a 5.9?Install heavier rivet by holding it sideways on anvil or vise, and using a hammer!

150 or so. But you could drill out a bit if too heavy, if you have a scale! Start with very small bit and keep going deeper until desired weight is met! If not enough, use next size drill bit.Thanks. What kind of RPM drop would you estimate if I replaced the 4.5 with a 5.9?

Fourload explained it well.. I didn’t know they changed the tip weight on the newer sleds. Makes sense now how some of you are using the original weights with xs belt and be in the rpm range.Perhaps the 240ss tune is faster than max spool 16? I know TD uses a higher base HP for their calculations compared to Hurricane.
