I was at my local dealer to pick up oil for my oil change. When I asked for Yamalube chaincase oil he told me that don't use it because it causes leaks. They only use Torco synthetic chaincase oil. I told him I have never heard of any issues using Yamalube chaincase oil. I went to a different dealer and bought the Yamalube. Anyone have leaks with Yamalube? I did buy a new crush washer.

Never had an issuse with any brand of oil causing a leak in the chaincase.

I usually run Amsoil in my chain cases but had some Yamalube that I won at the TY Give Away ride last year that I put in with my track swap. I used the original crush washer and has been off twice and have over 700 miles on the Yamalube. No leaks. I can't believe that there is an issue running Yamalube. I think that is crazy dealer talk. G.B.

Heck I even ran the Spectro tranny oil for dirtbikes in there one season since I didnt have chaincase oil handy. That dealer must have a bunch of Torco laying around.

Lol, Torco makes and is Yamalube.

Yamalube here with no leaks. As long as you get the cover on correctly, there shouldn't be any problems.

How the heck would oil cause a leak?.....

Bad gasket, washer, drain plug or vent maybe, but the oil itself.....really.

If everything is sealed up good, you could put water in there and it shouldnt leak.

YAMALUB CHAINCASE OIL IS NOT SYNTEC AND i DON'T KNOW IS FOR THIS REASON SO i SEE SOME HIGH HP SLED LIKE APEX THAT TOAST THE OIL VERY FAST AND BURN CHAIN CASE.... MAXIMA CHAINCASE OIL FULLSYNTEC AND NOW ZERO TROUBLE WITH APEX....

YAMALUB CHAIN CASE OIL IS PERFECT FOR BRAVO....LOL

NEVER HAVER LEAK EXPERIENCE

I did change the chaincase oil this weekend. Took forever for it to drain even with the sled tipped on its side. It was pretty murky from condensation. Filled it up with Yamalube chaincase oil. Ran the sled - no leaks.

for some reason my yamaha dealer doesn sell any yamalube chaincase oils.. not sure what they sell but whatever it is I use it..
