ZX2 Vibration survey

Shane said:
I have it. I found that the track was rubbing on the old black bracket on the right side and really wore the side of the track. I re-aligned it and still have the vibration. This skid is so much better than stock that although I wish the vibration would go away the performance of the skid over stock outweighs any vibration issues.

No doubt the skid is better then stock so far, but the vibration is an annoyance that should not be happening.

I just maybe change my story a little I do have a vibration but I dont consider it annoying or notice it much unless I focus on it. Seems to happen more at low speeds. One guy said that when he switched to extros he noticed the noise/vibration from the studs hitting them, I assumed that is what it was.

I did so many things new this year its hard to tell and like I said its not noticable to me and usually I notice things like that. This year I did extros, new track, new studs, ZX2, and all new bearings so I was happy it was a quiet as it was with me never doing any of that before in my life! LOL

Summary: I guess I DO have a little vibration but not sure if its from the ZX2 or extrovert drivers/studs.

My brother has a ZX-2 on his RX-1,and he felt a vibration like you the other day,he tightened his track a little and it went away, don't know if it helps.

I have not noticed it so I have no vibration. 136" 1.25" RipSaw studded, fully clipped. 9T Ski-Doo extroverts. I run the track just tight enough not to ratchet.

Those who have a vibration, are you studded?

OK - still have no vibration, but I hate the lack of rebound dampening, gotta get some real shocks installed for next year.

Wondering how Fox Floats would work in there.

I personally think a revalve would be be a much cheaper alternative.

I had let Jeff and Denis know about this thread well over a week ago. No response from either of them..

Oh well. I looked my skid over tonight and I do not see the rub marks I was seeing on my old track. So that is a plus. Things still look great under there. Hyfax still looks to have a lot of life left at 2,400 miles!

I looked over my hyfax and still have a lot of life also. I didn't have any vibration with my old 151 1.25 predator track (closed every third). I have since installed a 1.5 crossover clipped every third open window and extroverts. I feel a little vibration but not any concern. I need some more seat time to confirm this.

Other than the lack of rebound, and an occational bolt coming loose, the skid performs very well in a variety of conditions. Overall I'm very happy with it. I have also found out that riding too slow is not a good thing, if I keep up the pace it's way less tireing on my body, specially my knees and arms.

Any update on this? - I put 240 miles on Sunday and by the end of the day my hands were numb - I finished the ride on one of our other sleds that has a stock skid and the difference was night and day - the skid is awesome and I have zero issues with it except for the vibration - should I contact AD Boivin directly??

Honestly they do not care. They will listen and follow with the response of it is your sled or we have 500 skids out and there are only two reporting the problem or one of my favorites "I don't know" (followed by silence, no let us do research or anything) . They are aware of this thread. It is not a large enough of a problem for them to be concerned.

Maybe if enough call and bug them though it will do something, so I would say please contact them, just be prepared.

You would think that the negative publicity from this thread would at least have prompted them to do and or say something about the problem.
Played hookie today and put on 120 miles with this annoying vibration -
Maybe we all should have bought an AIR-Wave insted!
Next time for sure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe they will care then.
