Yamanator. I tried one on my 03 Rx-1. I had a deal where they would take it back and give me my money back if it did not perform as claimed. I worked with it for about three weeks. Not even close to the claims that were made. Needless to say I returned it and did get my money back. This was thru...
Just recieved my new American Snowmobiler Nov. issue. They give a dyno report on the Apex 150 engine. 149.8 h.p. @10100 r.p.m.. Sounds like they met their h.p. target. After break-in they will really impress a lot of sledders. Yamaha did a good job on this one.
The results of Haydays is posted on the Yamaha website. I don't think they did bad overall for a new sled. Give them some time and especially some snow and Yamaha should be looking pretty good this winter.
I am considering using a spray on bed liner product on my Apex-er. I comes in an aresal can. I have put a few coats on some aluminum that is thin and pliable to see how it will hold up and so far it looks great and seems to except bending without cracking which would be my concern. The unknown...
Check out the Yamaha accessories on their website. Apex/Attak Handlebar Pad. Part #SMA-8FPHP-CV-BK $18.95 list. Has a storage pocket and comes with the foam.
Red Apex er. Four of the guys I ride with went from Ski-doo to Yamaha and one that rode a Polaris went to Yamaha. So four Apex-er, one Attak and one Vector-er.
You guys have way to much time on your hands. I looked over and sat on a red Apex-er like I have ordered yesterday and was impressed with the over all quality. I think the hood will be great as long as we learn how to remove them correctly. I have never seen a sled that looks any sharper then...
Oak Hill. The sleds over by the demo rides at Nelsons's were the proto's from last spring. The only new model I found that you could sit on was the Attak over by the elevated Apex-er, and the Attak seat felt firmer to me. There were Vector's you could sit on as well.
m10rules. Funny you should select a couple lines and not give the whole story. "The rear suspension is capable, but not the only show in town. It is very compliant yet able to soak up wicked size bumbs, so we'd call it an awesome bump suspension. A Firecat it is not, so you're better off...
Does the fact that the Big Lakes have warmed up a lot this year translate into a lot of snow for us Michigan riders this winter? Saugatuk actually recorded an 80 degree temperature this last week in Lake Michigan. If we get a lot of cold temperatures the lakes could produce some good lake...
I looked at the belt specifically at the show last spring and they were the same belt as the RX-1. I also read in one of the magazines that they were the same. Yamaha belts are as good as any and are usually less expensive by far than the others.
If you look at the article on weight they had on page 50 there was a 15 lb. difference between the RX-1 and the Mach Z with electric start. Then in the article on the Apex they indicate a 11 lb. weight reduction from the RX-1 on the Apex-er. Sounds like a 4 lb. difference if the Mach Z stayed...
Easier on your wallet? I paid $8900.00 out the door for an Apex E-R. The cheapest 2006 Mach Z I heard a price on was about $9800.00 out the door. Were there better Mach Z prices out there? Then of course you still have the difference in the operating expenses which greatly favors the Apex.
