Great idea! I have always adjusted it after I had everything apart. As far as the clips falling off go I just put a little silicone on the bottom of the clip and reinstall them. It keeps them in place for me.
I bought an Attak after owning a Rage and have to admit that I like the handling of the Attak over the Rage but can't stand the exhaust resonance. I have to wear earplugs with the Attak but it isn't absolutely necessary with the Rage.
I agree. I put stabil in a full tank of gas and grease all the fittings and start the sleds on the first of the month every month and let them come up to operating temp. Also I spray metal protectant on everything in the skid and the front end.
Fill the tank, add gas stabilizer and grease all the fittings to force out any water that may be in there. Start your sled once a month and let it warm up to operating temperature. That will charge your battery and keep your engine lubed. I start mine on the first day of the month that way I...
I agree with the Yamaha sport bags. They are designed well and don't come apart. I bought a set for my wife's sled and a coldwave set for my sled to use on a trip to Canada. The Coldwave bags worked well but their attachment system was poorly designed and came apart in 3 different places. I'm...
Hondo,
We did an out and back into Canada starting and ending at Eagle Lake. Matane was as far as we went out. It was our first trip to Canada and none of us were sure about how many miles we should ride in a day so we took the conservative route. We are planning next years trip to the Gaspe...
Did I miss it? I told my wife that we would snow check a fuel injected, 3 cyl, 136" track sled this spring. What was I thinking? We had plans to go to the yamaha show so she could sit on one to see how it feels. Forget that. Maybe in a year or two. To look at the bright side, I don't have to...
The 07 flap can and will get sucked up although it isn't as likely to be shredded as the 06 flap. I think I will try to cut my 07 flap off to see if that will help.
I have triple points on two of my sleds and they work very well. I noticed a huge difference when the skis were shimmed and triple points were installed.
The same thing happened to me up on the canadian border. Fortunately it was a quick 5 minute adjustment. Take off the side panel and the wrench you need is in the tool kit.
When I start mine I use full choke just to start them and take the choke off as much as I can so they will still run and totally off as soon as possible. I let them run until they shut themselves off. I have never fouled a plug in two years.
Last year I bought 2 pair of Brite Lites for my wifes and my sled. One of the bulbs burned out on the first ride and I replaced it with a Sylvania Silverstar. To make a long story short I have one of each in my sled right now and don't see any difference in them. Buy the Sylvania they are a lot...
I love my Rage but unless I put padding in the seat or bought a seat from a Nytro I found the seating position too low and put a lot of pressure on my hips. I bought an Attak and find it to be much more comfortable for me. Next year we will be snow checking a new Rage and I hope it is more rider...
My wife and I both have Rage's and personally I think they excel at trail riding. The longer track offers a smoother ride over the stutter bumps and not much given up on top end. Also it looks like the hybrids are getting a little higher price used. I just bought an Attak so we will see how she...
