Where do you store your spare v-belt on an LTX?

I'm trying to find a storage option for the spare belt - anyone?

    Hot starting or not starting

Just had the hot start issue up in Canada - I was sweeping, so my three buddies were long gone, leaving me stranded. It did start after roughly 10 minutes, and 7 - 8 trys. Here is what my dealer told me: He asked a lot about how I started it - key to on position, then cranked, or directly...

    Fuel pump relay freeze up

The red one is the 3rd version. Was tested by Yamaha to something like 60 below. I had the problem on my 2011 XTX. Dealer told me I had the updated relay (the 2nd version), but due the persistent problem, Yamaha had developed the 3rd version. It is red.

    Split Rail spindle removal

I just removed the same hardware yesterday. They sell a new tool kit that makes the installation/uninstall a lot easier, thought I agree the 3 hole proprietary head sucks. The new tool holds the inside head tight, and provides a ratchet type head (you use with socket) which you simply have to...

    Tweaked sub-frame on '12 XTX

I hit a culvert going very slow (5-10 mph)with my left split rail ski. Took a chunk out of the inside edge, of the outer rail, and I went over the handlebars! I noticed when i got home, the shock on that side was out of alignment, and sled was sitting lower on damaged side, so brought it in...

    Split Rail skiis

No push, no darting, awesome handling, awesome ski. I have over 2,000 miles on mine this season, in all types of conditions. I love them.

Curve xs with LE or split rails ?

"There's no ski that is going to dramatically improve the Nytro's handling issues." Having used them for over 1300 miles now, and in many conditions including powder, I have to respectfully disagree with this statement. (for the record I also used the stock skis for 2,000 miles, and Pilots...

    Broken rear axel??

I just lost the rear axle nut shortly after a 500 mile service - they clearly did not re-tighten the nut after track adjustment. I was able to ride back 40 miles easy (at 30 MPH), and watched the axle slowly work its way out (but I kept banging it back in place). The break in your picture is...

Curve xs with LE or split rails ?

Split Rails - Great I now have over 1,000 miles on my Split Rails (ran pilots prior) - no comparison - Split Rails are by far the best all around trail ski for the Nytro, in fact, intensely better than stock or pilots. Expensive, yes, but worth every penny.

Split Rail Skis - Fact or Farce?

I havn't used them yet, so can only report what I have read in doing my research to buy them. From their website: "Split Rail's have nearly the same surface area as the Ski-Doo Pilot 5.7 stock skis. The rails are merely separated. Split Rails are also designed so that as the snow passes...

    Aligning Split Rail Skis?

You just have to measure the angle of the spindle when on a flat surface. The Split Rail Ski has a flat, wide (roughly 1-1/2 dia) piece of hardware that should be plumb to the ground. Measure the angle of this flat surface +/- how many degrees off of 90.

    Aligning Split Rail Skis?

When the top of the ski spindles are closer together than the bottom of the spindles, it is called negative camber. The opposite condition is called positive camber. Once my split-rail skis were aligned (1/4 total toe out) I have negative camber of 3 degrees each side. To align skis...

    Aligning Split Rail Skis?

I just put split rail skis on my 2011 XTX. I had the same condition you are referring to (bad on one side), and loosening the tie rod DID help level the ski (making it more parallel to the ground when looking at it head on). The guys at Split-Rail recommend the stock setting for toe out...

    Moving Nytro Taillight

Good idea on the cable. Just a heads up (although I'm sure I'm the only idiot to make this mistake!) but the harness behind the new light is not centered to the light. I found out the hard way, and have a slightly larger hole for the cable than required. I also cut a rubber gasket the shape...

    Moving Nytro Taillight

No marks - just 6 mounting holes. 6 because there are 4 rivets that hold a bracket with two nuts, underneath the tunnel. The two nuts receive the screws that hold the stock tail light in place. I think someone has mentioned that you could just reinstall the stock light (less the housing...
