always hold the key to the start position about 5 seconds after it starts, so it doesn't die. And don't touch the throttle until the light is off. Works every time.

It's the exhaust donuts or Y pipes.

The secret is to hold the key on start for maybe 15 seconds after it starts. Never quits and no chance of fouling the plugs.

That's what happens when the exhaust donuts go...lots of threads on that!

HOLD THE KEY TO START We found out the hard way (fouled plugs) When you're starting it cold hold the key to the start position at least 3 to 5 seconds after it first starts. Works everytime, never fouls plugs or does not start the first try.

pipes The gaskets wear thin in about 6000 miles and pipes go soon after. The Yamaha YES warranty does cover the new gaskets and pipes. Had it done on mine.

My donuts and Y pipes were cover under YES. I had to fax the owner of the dealer ship a nasty letter about other dealers covering it. Next day service manager called and said bring it in.

It's your exhaust y pipes. If it's not under warranty bend over and spend 700 bucks for both Y pipes and donuts. same thing happened to mine.

exhaust You guys are dreaming. At 4000 miles you'll need exhaust gaskets and if you're not lucky y pipes at a cost of 700 bucks plus gaskets if you don't have the extended warranty. Lucky, I had the extended warranty, and it was covered.

Well they have $50 bucks of mine and won't call me back...don't know what is going on?

Placed an ordered online with Bender Racing for exhaust gaskets for my Apex. Order went thru, the money was taken out of my paypal account, but no gaskets. They do not answer their phone or return messages or emails? Anyone know what is going on? Thanks
