Wife's 137 Viper say 2" @ 25 lbs force and Sidewinder 137 LTX LE says 2" @ 20lbs force. Both measurements are taken at same location (both manuals). With all the talk about the potential damage to the 3.5" strip of fins, you would think if they were too be different, the SW would be the looser of the two. Wifes' Viper sliders still look new with 4000 kms with the tighter Viper specs. Have studded my LTX with 160 Gold Diggers (1.325") in a 4-3-3 pattern (the rows with 4 are two double backers with some ending up in the 3.5" "danger zone". Studded mine a month ago after checking clearance in dealer shop. To be on the safe side, will start riding with the tighter Viper 137" specs as opposed to looser SW 137" specs. Both tracks are identical Ripsaw II's with 1.25 lugs. Rails and suspension are pretty much the same (no RR suspension as promised!)

I would guess that they would want a tighter track on SW because it has more top speed and will balloon out more.

Exactly what I thought. Why the SW spec calls for a looser track than the Viper is beyond me. Not a typo as the SW manual and added spec sheet both say only 20 lbs force to attain required 2" deflection whereas Viper says you need more force (25 lbs) to attain 2". Viper track is therefore tighter. At the very least, you would think the SW spec would be just as tight, if not even tighter due to speed and ballooning.I would guess that they would want a tighter track on SW because it has more top speed and will balloon out more.
Not the other way around. Peculiar. Thought that after the Apex "studs wanting to eat the muffler and EXUP valve" fiasco that future studding issues would be averted.

Nice catch. I will go 25 on my winder. As I have studs in the middle also. 1.325 and was planning on running a smidge tighter

does the 2017 viper spec still say 25? Maybe it was revised to 20 for '17
