2007 Phazer won't start. FIXED!!

i've had toys that will fire off starting fluid, but not gasoline. pop in a new plug and they ran. Granted, those were two-strokes, but I've always went with the KISS principal, and that usually means check for air, fuel, and spark.

shrugs

check your coils for spark as well as fouled plugs. I just had to replace my ecm because there was no spark on the #1 cylinder regardless of what coil I used. I had just replaced both coils, the main wiring harness and the sub harness so I was able to narrow it down. symptom I has was sled would turn over fine at 270 rpm and once in a while would try and start while the rpms would jump to like 800 rpm. If it does end up being the ecu/cdi there was a cold weather start update that has a ecu in it.

not yet DF. I have a few things to try. I've already changed plugs. Still the same. I'm thinking fuel issues. I've primed it with gas as well as quick start and it runs so I'm sure spark isn't an issue. But I am frustrated! The only things that changed from it working perfect was sitting for 24 hours in the cold and filling it up with fuel. I eliminated any obvious froze up issues by adding gas line antifreeze and putting it in my garage where its been since last Monday. I have fuel when I cycled the pump at the tank end. Maybe I break the line at the fuel rail and check there also. I've run through all the on board diagnostics and all check out including the injector relay (or at least I can hear it clicking) I'm rambling but that's where my mind is at with this one...

Is it possible you have the ground block gone bad?
My sled you start then die (just shut off right in the middle of a ride) and would not start until it cooled. Then eventually it just would not work at all.

I have not read much of the post so I am just trowing that out there.

Is there a time limit on updates that anyone knows of? This machine was stored for 4 years so it has seen very little use but almost no updates performed. I have an email in to Yamaha Canada now asking the very same question

ok, I have fuel or something resembling fuel. I checked the injectors while cranking over and I can see mist spraying out of them. I'm going to change the plugs and check for spark again.

I'm just rambling but, if it catches on prime but doesn't start, its possible ..... let me check before I say anything more

I'm draining the tank and putting fresh gas in.
As I said earlier in this post, the only things that changed from working perfect to not working was cold and new tank of gas. I thinking I must have bad gas although that would be a first for me ever. I'll let you know how it goes.

That would account for everything. My fingers are crossed for you.Brings up a issue.I wonder what a guy should do if he runs into bad gas.Not so much a issue with us 4 strokes but have really seen some messed up 2 smokes.A guy thinks you are doing the right thing and pay more for Premium but premium is the least used and can easily be old and junk. The stations should have to test or something.Maybe a born on date sticker on tank would help?

TaaDaa!! warming up as I type this See attached pic. Notice the exhaust ? Changed the gas and way it goes!!

Thanks for all the help guys, felt like I had 5 ppl in the garage working with me
