Please say it isn't so jtssrx!! There were blown AC belts all over our lake this weekend!!!
Ask JTS how many belts he went through on his Turbo cat :yam:

Im pretty sure Jason has went thru a belt or two but has it dialed in now and that belts are a non issue. Most go fast guys have cat's issues under control, just like Yamaha guys get there sleds handling better....

Hey Todd actually I sold my cat. I'm going blue again. I just want to ride worry free!!!

No need for an all-new sled! The Nytro XTX is still the best sled on the snow. All they need to do is make some simple changes like adding a bigger tank, going back to the clicker shocks, and adding the trail supercharger stock and nothing will touch it across a lake or in the twisties!

Here's a video of my '09 with this setup SMOKING an 800 E-Tec twice. Look close, it hooks up so well you initially think I jump the start, but he moves first both times...

Oh yeah, and my XTX has nearly 9,000 miles on it and still solid and tight. Try THAT with a Cat or Bumble Bee!

fact is..the cat front suspension is good..real good..

True, but then again I have heard that the front end they are running on the racing Nytros is excellent so it's not like Yamaha can't do it... It just seems like sometimes they don't want to do it until the market forces them to do it.

There is talk of a light weight version built in conjunction with Volkswagon. The platform is bullet proof and tested.

i guess they just gave up on getting the heated grips to work and did away with them completely by enclosing the whole sled!!

The heated grips must be a problem only on the older ones because if mine got any hotter on my '12 Nytro they would melt my hands.

Seems that everyone that tried a new Cat is going back to their old brand. Looks like SJ sold his too? Makes one wonder how long Cat can hold on?

I bet Yamaha will keep them busy, or frustrate the hell out of them making sure they get the chassis right on assembly.

So what! Everyone else is coming out with factory turbos etc, why not Yamaha! Add the supercharger into the price and it's still less tnah Doo wants for their sleds.

It's called apples vs oranges dude. You think a new Nytro with a factory super will cost less than a new Doo? Come out west and run a few of the E-techs with aftermarket breathing....see how well the Nytro does. That would be apples to apples.

Saw that sled last weekend in the owner's shop. Not likely to be produced by Yammy as it has a 1100 GSXR motor with turbo, 6 speed and air shifter...but it's real cool!

Any one else read CRs article on the 2013 Year of the Snake ?
Seems fishy why he would write on that and even fishier why he would post a link in the article that explains the whole thing. In the link it says the official color of the 2013 Year of the snake is black ! Im thinking an al new black Viper is looming in the grass , uh I mean snow !!!
I gotta say i really miss the handling of my old Viper S , In my opinion it was the meanest looking Yamaha ever made. It wouldnt be too hard to convince me to go back to a sled that handled like that did if it had the power of my Apex does now.

Personally I don't like the whole idea of re-using the two stroke model names on a 4 stroke sled like the they did with the phazer. The current day phazer should have had a different name. To most people the phazer was the sled that changed the sport in the 80's....not the entry level 4 stroke that wasn't really entry level.
