2016 Yamaha Apex?

I believe its easier than everybody thinks....

(1) very light weight, well balanced chassis

(3) motors, 100hp, 600cc beefed up Phazer motor. 135hp, Viper motor. 170hp, new light weight 3 or 4 cylinder motor

(4) lengths of skids, 121, 136, 153, 162

YAMAHA would be back in Buisness with 1 new chassis, 1 new motor & 1 beefed up current motor!!!

:drink:

So is 2016 going to be the rebirth of the apex? Any speculations or rumors that any one is hearing?

Just read that the Nytro is done. Replaced by the Viper. Looks like the Apex has some time left. No one has matched this stock engine

The only rumour I heard is that next year's Apex will be revamped/new design...likely built here in North America. I thought I remember hearing down in Georgia, where the ATVs are built.

I've heard that the 2016 Apex will be revealed in Feb/Mar this year, in time for 2016 Spring Orders. (New Chassis, same motor)
I was going to order a Viper in March, but I'll be sandbaggin to see what develops in 8 months with the Apex.
If they're going to be bringing out something big for 2016, you can guarantee that we'll see before April of 2015.

yes i will agree that is one thing i have never liked about any of the yamaha 4 strokes is the smallish gas tanks, they all need to get 10 gallon

Yes, It is the only complaint on a nearly flawless sled. Being the first guy in the group to run out of gas or having to modify your riding style to make it to the next stop can't be what Yamaha intended in the this trail sled.

All I know is doo has a 1500, 4 stroke, N/A sled that could happen. When yamaha releases their anniversary sled, it has to make a splash. The next will be a low cost phaser. The next big boy has to be light weight (under 500lbs), 170hp+, with a real shock package to make people switch, and to jump start the brand name. The viper helped sales the first year, but from what I hear mountain sales aren't what they were hoping for. The cat front end just doesn't carve like the doo, or poo. When I rent in Wyoming the cat is the last one on the lot. They say the front end can push like a shovel in the powder. Which isn't good for a mountain reputation.... Hope they bring out something that is a home run like the srx700, rx1, or apex were when thy first came out...

Can't agree with you more sheetwright. When they bring out the next flag ship sled it needs to have all those things not just one or the other. Needs to have boo-koo power, light weight for a four stroke and a rear skid that will hang with r-motion. I also believe it needs to be a chassis that will house the 4 hole, 3 hole and 2 hole motor or at least the 4 and 3 cylinder engines. They need to get with the times like the other 3 and make one chassis and body style that will do the work for all of the motor line up. Also speaking of the times "old times" are the coolest. So why not bring back SRX, GPX or how about V-max 4. for the four cylinder motor sled.

rumor that has been coming out here in alberta is that with yamahas new 2015 r1 motorbike engine, producing 230hp, there is a good chance we could see it used in a sled. A few other possibilities that may be coming as i have heard from a few of the reps that ride at the yamaha test ride is that there is a possibility of the mountain max name coming back in the next few years along with a redesigned yamaha nytro. both on a brand new co-designed chassis or on a new yamaha built chassis. either way from what ive been hearing the next 3 years for yamaha will be interesting. with a few new sleds on the way.
