Hi all I have just purchased a 2017 ltx-le from powersports1 (site sponsor) They are going to go through the sled for me before I pick it up and would like a list of things to look for. I have already seen the heat shield tape is peeling off gas tank and know about re-torqueing the turbo bolts. it has 1100 miles on 1st belt so I think it is not a belt blower. the rollers are all making contact with the helix in the secondary and I see no flat spots...I don't know if Yamaha will just give me a new set or do I have to wait for them to fail? what else has been a problem on this sled that I can be sure they look at before I pick it up? Thanks for all responses.

Check your primary rollers also. I have one that is froze and will be having it replaced under warranty. I think you need to tell your dealer you want the secondary rollers replaced with the updated ones and not wait for them to fail. This is a known issue and should be addressed before you take delivery.

From what I recall in addition to the Turbo bolts needing retorque, also have them retorque the primary clutch bolt, equast heat shield update, check for flat spotted secondary clutch rollers, air filter cleaned of oil, and coolant level. The clutch rollers don't exactly fail but some have flat spotted. Also I bielieve there was an update to remove and apply anti seize (copper) to the turbo bolts where it connects to the muffler, if not it's a good idea to do it anyways it'll make future chain adjustment much easier.
Congrats on the sled it's an amazing ride, fun as heck, and very quick. Not to mention best looking .

Also check for a chain case oil leak. My LTX-LE is leaking and several others have as well.Hi all I have just purchased a 2017 ltx-le from powersports1 (site sponsor) They are going to go through the sled for me before I pick it up and would like a list of things to look for. Thanks for the replies guys. anything else anyone can think of I appreciate the input. This is also why I waited a year so I can know if its a good unit and know what bugs need tweaking. I think it is a solid ride and had one bought a first year they would have been just fine for the most part and is why I am willing to save a few buck and get a first year now. thanks again.

There will be a test on this at a later date
Also if you go to Haydays, you owe us a beer or cheese curds (kind of like a hazing) since we did all the testing for you. lol
BTW: install aftermarket rollers & ski's

I have wanted to go to hay days for years my ridding buddies are always ducking out on it so I may have to go by myself this year. I will surely buy the first round and I am never to far away from the next batch of cheese curds.Welcome to the 'Winder Regiment! We are the elite unit of the TY Division led by our General MrSled. My dealer convinced me to try the new aggressive Snowtrackers for the tuners that just came out. I am a huge fan of ST and he told me if I hate them he will buy them back and get me different skis at his cost so for the first ride at least I am running the tuners with ST and will be sure to let everyone know how they work. It will be a hard sell for me because I HATE tuner skis. Time will tell.

I got a set of new pre-production snow trackers, they are slightly different than the previous model. They were fine tuned last winter until they got them spot on.
They will be available this fall!

that is what I am supposed to be getting on mine. they mention them on the website but no info or pricing my dealer said they retail for 299 he gave me a better price on them then that by a long shot with the new sled purchase. I do have high hopes as I say I love snow trackers.

I saw 2 'Winders in Maine this year with Snowtrackers on their tuners and they were very pleased. They were running 250hp tunes, so i don't think they were lallygaggers. Seemed like a lot of hardware under there though

always is with snow trackers and one would think they would be harder to steer as well but they lighten up the steering on the apex I bet they do on the winder too.

The dealership where I ordered mine, recommended snow trackers as they run them on their Winders. I've read elsewhere that some people feel the snow trackers have caused wrecks by being too aggressive?? Anyone else seen or heard this?

I ran semi-aggressive snow trackers on cat MTX skis And it drove like it had power steering but too much push for me. I'm switching to 6.9 pilots this year

My Snowtrackers were perfect on my Apex. Lighter steering & precise handling when set up right. If setup wrong, they can be a handful, but that's the case with ALL ski's. With 2 sets under each Tuner and me NOT being able to pick ski's, i was worried about Snowtrackers on a 'Winder. But i'm VERY happy with my Curves and SlimJims...

Have heard semi's tend to push, thats why the term semi-aggressive is in the name. One must go to the Aggressive's to prevent the push.
I ran Aggressive trackers on the single keel Doo race skis on my 1200. May be able to get by using the 5.7 trail or 6.9 skis on the winder with the Aggressive's. The Issue is twin keel skis like the 5.7, 6.9 or tuner skis is they tend to push more, even using Aggressive trackers in the loose or deeper snow.
Wait a second, I just realized we are talking about skis and carbides in a 2017 update thread. What the world? Sorry OP.
