Have to agree to a large extent. It takes a big comittment to ride, and I don't mean new stuff. You have to have the bug and obviously like cold weather and at times, being uncomfortable out in the middle of nowhere.Ya maybe a better product line might help Yamaha somewhat. But I go back and say look inside the restaurants, bars, and hotels. You would be hard pressed to see a group of twenty somethings on sleds. Subtract the young ones riding with the dad or grandfather to make them happy. It is not just snowmobiling, it is all outdoor activities. Look at Harvey Davidson, I bought a new bike in 96 and there were a lot of hot looking ladies on the back end of the bikes. Go out and look today it would scare you! Look at how many golf courses has closed as well. The younger generation are not outdoor fans like us baby boomers. For the most part they are IPhones and computer games. My son rides with me because it is me, his friends do not. When he goes on a sled trip it is with a bunch of 50 and 60 year olds.

and SRX.
The 200 is all new. It seems to have gone out of stock quickly when dealers have them, and they should have a big long-term impact on the sport. Now release that new phazer in a more traditional package as a stepping stone from the 200, and we may revitalize the sport like Apple putting computers in schools!
Or is that what the AC 4000 series machines are for?

I have heard the same thing. They are great motors. Even Cats old 800 Zuks were bulletproof for an 800. I know people that have put on 8000+ miles on their 800 without even touching it. Now Cat has their new 800 Ctec which I'm sure will be just as good as their 600's. I know they haven't been out super long but I have yet to hear of anybody having problems with them. I think if Yamaha was smart and wanted to save time and money they would go that route and use Cats 2 strokes but in their own chassis.I really do believe the cat 2 stroke is an option for Yamaha, in their own chassis! The people I know that have the 600 ctek has had zero problems with them! I think they our a very reliable motor. what have you all heard and think of them?

The CTEC 800 I rode last season for a bit in the woods performed nearly identical to my Apex. The power curve, initial hit as far as clutching, were nearly the same. I was actually surprised as it was not like other 2-strokes I had ridden. And the owner jumped on my XTX and was surprised as well. He liked how planted it was, and I told him, that's a benefit of all the weight! HA

The 4000 is no longer part of the lineup. The 3000 is the step up from the kid sleds and its in line with the ACE 600. Great sled to get new riders going. We have one and its a perfect fit for family riding.

Srx isn't new ... but rumour has 3 all new Yama kitty s in 2020 .and SRX.
There's your 5 new sleds . Ideally it would be a new 600 & 850 with Yamaha motors ( artic cat has very little knowledge on building motors , it's was all Suzuki)
& a new Yamaha turbo sled . That would cover all lvls of sleds

It's a new designed sled to me , not like the old ones. You better open up your eyes and look at it.

My 30,000ft observation is the Cat Zukini's were great motors (just not very fuel efficient). Perhaps that's part of the reason Cat and Zuke have parted company. All I know is my one Zuke rider friend is in a panic after a couple hours riding if we're not near a gas station.

I agree SRX is not new. If your rumor is true that would be 5 new sleds in 7 years. not too bad but not the 5 new sleds in 5 years Yamaha promised.
1) Viper
2) Sidewinder
3) 200
4) Rumored 600 (I'm adding to the rumor that will be a new Yamaha two-stroke)
5) Rumored 850 (I'm adding to the rumor that will be a new Yamaha two-stroke)
That would be a formidable Yamaha lineup.

Lowered Sidewinder, if we count different versions then the mountain sleds would count as different sleds and every model of each as well!

Yes they are great motor but they sure are thirsty beast. I know how your buddy feels because mines the same way. Its actually about the same as my nytro was but at least I have much bigger tank now. I think I got about 120 or miles before I was empty. I could never get that with my nytro. My 30,000ft observation is the Cat Zukini's were great motors (just not very fuel efficient). The latest CTEC 600 and CTEC 800 were developed and built in house at Arctic's St Cloud engine plant. I do believe there is very little, if any, Suzuki DNA left there as we have all been told that agreement is over. In fact, Textron announced in July of last year that it would be moving it's German, Weber facility to St Cloud as well.
If your spidey senses are tingling, you can bet that we will see more Weber DNA in AC/Textron products very soon.

The fact that I am hearing Yamaha 2 strokes as a possibility in the near future is music to my old ears
But lets be clear YAMAHA 2 strokes

I can assure you there won't be a Yamaha 2 stroke sled with a junk artic cat motor in it .... the cat motor has the least power of any 2 strokes
