They probably do have a BLAST reading some of these theories, their new engineers are probably having a hard time writing all this stuff down..lol
All joking aside I really hope Yamaha is reading this. We are telling them exactly what the people want so if they were smart then they should be reading this.

Belt drive is not new and with no reverse its kinda a steep and deep thing, one lung 300 is sweet and good for the kids. The chassis is who knows what frame design almost looks like a boss style seat with an exhaust sticking out from under it. Partly looks like a flat panel frame with a wierd tube frame up front. Maybe its a luggage rack like on 4 wheelers

It's nothing new, but it's new from an OEM. Belt drives have always been after market. This is obviously a kids sled from start to finish. The seat, skis, handlebars etc have nothing to do with the patent, filing paperwork. So you can be assured those are just there to give the impression of a snowmobile as they have nothing to do with a new sled. The tunnel dump exhaust is an aftermarket design as well. We have not seen that from an OEM.

My guess is the combination of belt drive for low noise, and tunnel dump exhaust on a kids sled makes sense to get it behind the rider. Obviously these are all guesses. I'm 100% in agreement about the luggage rack. that's pretty common on the chinese four wheelers.

Who knows, maybe this design is to compete with the Yamaha Bravo? It may be the next version of a Bravo, as the extra rack strorage, small displacement, and tunnel dump exhaust for additional racks on the back. It sounds like a fisherman's special. Quick trivia, when was the Bravo released and when was it changed other than BNG? I have no clue, but it's probably older than my daughter.

If Yamaha is just tunning in now way too late to affect 2020 releases. I always posted for fun never thought Yamaha would read or care as corporate R&D doesn’t work that way. To each his own believe what you want but my belief is Yamaha corporate product planning is based on cost of tooling and development costs based on years of R&D of engineering and product management.

So Sasquatch thinks that a sled with a Cat chassis and a Cat drive train assembled in a Cat factory is a CAT even IF they put a Yamaha sticker on it ?

I think he may be on to something!

I will be surprised IF Yamaha does not become the premier engine provider for many sled/power sports manufacturers and not a total sled designer, manufacturer and retailer and dealor

Hope I am wrong.......

Well reading the investors report for 2017 they still are bragging they build the only full build sleds on the market..I would have to bet they would not say such if there not going to consider doing such!AlSO I WILL JUST THROW OUT THERE TWO WORDS!!!!!!"HYBRID FRAME"..You just have to dig hard thru corporate notes

Yeah, I have done that digging and you are right about the Hybrid frame. When you read the annual report it also make realize that Yamaha has enough cash on hand to do whatever thy want in terms of R&D for a new sled. They key words being "if they want." based on sales figures from all their product lines they would be further ahead to dump money in their pool business, thats right pool business. Who knew that they sold pools. When you look at YAMAHA'S big picture terms of sales (volume and Profit) it makes you wonder why they bother with sleds at all as their sales are so small. There is room for them to double, triple, or even quadruple their sales of sleds to capture just 25% of the sled market.

Under seat exhaust is Yamaha since 2003, tunnel dump no. There is no Bravo but it could be bravo like and yes an old design

No I have said its a Cat even with a Yamaha Motor, clutch and when Cat has the exact same sled its an identity crisis! I said if people want a Two stoke, Cat has two of them, they are Yamaha partners and share the same chassis, you like the chassis buy a Cat. Someone else said Yamaha would soon be selling Cat two strokes under the Yamaha name, I agree that is very logical and unless Yamaha strikes out on their own (highly unlikely) its what will happen!

Now that Port is welcoming Cat as family its even more likely that now there is three manufactures and Yamaha is a engine supplier. The Yamaha name will be sticker only and Cat will share all models with Yamaha. The king is dead long live the king!

I don’t know much about Port Yamaha but very nice service department when I talked to them about headers and exup. When Pats brings in the Cats that will mean something to me since a Yamaha/Polaris shop but sells more Yamaha sleds and right up there as a top USA sled seller. The Pats owner already has access to Cat products in Houghton thru ownership of M&M so could easily sell AC but so far loaded with Sidewinders and Vipers at least 1 SRX says Yamaha is here to stay. I was worried about Pats with the inventory reduction program since all Yamaha inventory had been sold but owner said no sweat Pete we will be fine. Imo opinion I would NOT judge anything about Yamaha thru Port I’m sure Port wanted the Textron ATV line since not in the snow belt but prime farming land for ATVs.

Well Yamaha sadly may have shown the path they are going to take, we as Yamaha true blue's may get our 2 stroke but not from Yamaha, a blue colored Cat 600 and 800, Yamaha's Jap built VK540 is now part of cats utility sled line up as the bearcat xt, it is now written in stone the future path Yamaha is taking, all dreams and wishes are gone of Yamaha building their own chassis and having their own line up, sadly and with great disappointment I will have to look to and darken the door step of another sled brand that has their house in order and is standing proudly on their own two feet, hopefully my Apex will last for a while before this happens. Shame on you Yamaha!!!!

Who wants to ride and buy a blue colored 100% Cat hahaha. Just go and buy a cat or another 2 stoke brand.
Shame on you Yamaha!!!!

Like I have said a few times now, if Yamaha uses a cat chassis and a cat engine then that would be a huge slap in the face. If they stoop to those levels then they might as well shut things down for good.

Imo the North American market is too sophisticated for a blue stickered 2s. I don’t know why other parts of the world market would want a blue 2s maybe lack of competition?

I agree. I think the 4s is the baddest sled on snow for our area, non mountain/big snow climbers.
I think the next phase of sledding may be a Hybrid, weather full electric or gas/electric mode. The acceleration/torque is amazing and the fuel economy/range will be awesome.
My sons Fusion hybrid has 200k miles and only has needed tires. With regen braking it still has the original brakes and battery. Some taxi cabs in NY have 800k on them with zero issues.
Could you imagine not having to put $4 or $5 a gallon fuel in anymore.
