Sasquatch Yamaha has always kept their word and stayed on track to what they promised although we were still disappointed with the end result. The Nytro xtx release was a gut wrencher as a new model with an extended 144 track and was laughable to me at the time. But the ck 144 tipped was part of the 2011 Apex EPS release so had more purpose than we realized at the time. Yamaha said they are here to stay in snowmobiles so I believe them at their word. It’s more difficult for Yamaha to stay in the snowmobile business than drop out. Snomos are so small financially easy to walk away but much more at stake here imo. Yamaha would be setting a precedent for their reputation and telling the market when it gets competitive we just fold and quit which would embolden all of their competition in all markets. I don’t think Yamaha would want to do that and would rather throw money at a failing line just to show everyone that they will never give up on any of their products. Yes the snowmobile division has made mistakes regarding discontinuing 2s but huge EPA justification at the time in 2003. I just don’t think Yamaha would lie to us and fold especially to those that bought Sidewinders and Vipers during inventory reduction. A lie of that magnitude would take brass balls to execute just not how Yamaha operates. As far as blue stickered off shore 2s it could be what Textron wanted to move products as a trade off for inventory reduction of 4s product. Really is low risk for Yamaha and Textron but blue 2s would never be accepted by North American consumers so didn’t and won’t happen here. Take Yamaha at their word that the snowmobile division is here to stay until it’s over it’s NOT over.I agree its coming to a head in 2020. Yamaha has claimed new sleds all along and each one was a Cat shared with Yamaha so please don't be angry if I say ho hum a new Catamaha! I think it will be a continued relationship of Cat sharing thier chassis and Yamaha their motors. I think with what CR has said and with what Port has said this has all been indeed a way to keep Yamaha dealers supplied and used to the idea of selling Cat supplied sleds. I think it worked as dealers sold them and customers bought them and Yamaha made money! Unless there is a huge up surge in the market I just can't see Yamaha leaving to build sleds on their own.

Yamaha is not folding they are selling Cats! Cats are Yamaha's future. They are not leaving to build their own sleds, they are staying to continue selling motors to Cat and buy their sleds from them. They already told the world they can not build sleds but can build motors, after we the Yamaha customer said they suck at building sleds. The TY site was full of how crappy their sleds, how much better the other sleds where, but we loved their motors. So they bought sleds from Cat dropped their motors in and we snapped them up, now they should go back? Sure there is a following that wants Yamaha to go back to building sleds but whats in it for them? Pride? They swallowed that. Money? They are making money. So what is left? Identity maybe? We will see but when I mentioned identity no one cared and was happy identifying with the motor and still thinking Yamaha was superior to Cat. So again what is left? They slapped a sticker on a Cat and people are buying it, if you have sales do you need to change?

With the Yamaha engineers living in Minnesota , they have had input on the new yamaKitty in 2020 from the ground up on the new sleds . That will only mean we will get closer to Yamaha quality on the next round of sleds . ( now if they could only bring over the Japanese assembly line people they would be set .... )

Yes you change when the market is saturated hardly enough sales for 1 manufacturer. Lol... lots of low hanging fruit for a Yamaha Apex and Vector replacement.... Yamacats not so much. OEM relationships are for companies that can make money with an OEM combined solution. It worked for awhile but the market became saturated thus inventory reduction program. Imo Textron and Yamaha are very aware of the shrinking market for Yamacats. They both know Yamacats are a dead end street at this time yes their products and customers will be supported and the relationship will renew on a much smaller scale. Yamaha has a lot of technology that is exclusive and can be adapted to their own brand to make an all new sled and meet profit margins. Try to take a fresh look at the realities of the market it’s moving very rapidly and has changed so much in the term of the agreement including the Textron ownership. Market changes you adapt your products to market demands.Yamaha is not folding they are selling Cats! Cats are Yamaha's future. Too soon to replace a brand new 800di engine with an 850, they have yet to recoup R&D from the 800. And there is no purpose on the planet to put a single rail suspension in a trail sled. If there is, please share. Weight savings to give poor ride stability is not a trade off.

The dealer who I spoke to that rode the Alpha said when they rode to the hills in a group, whoever was on the Alpha was always faster than the rest. He claimed the Alpha skid was a superior big bump skid and easier to ride in the rough stuff.Too soon to replace a brand new 800di engine with an 850, they have yet to recoup R&D from the 800. 800 cat is down on power , it's out of date already compared to the Polaris 840 .... maybe someone start a poll on who would buy a YamaKitty 600& 850 with engine options 1) Yamaha 2 stroke 2) Arctic Cat 2 stroke 3 ) or comparable 4 stroke hp motors .... I think everyone knows the answer..... at least the smart ones do

The sled is going to dive like crazy in the deep stuff. I like the idea but I think it will need to be better balanced for the Kingcat/Sidewinder.Dealer here says kingcat is coming with Alfa skid next year and they are building one this year if they can get the parts.. but the weight is beeing taken of the wrong end of the sled..
