20/80 I forgot more about the single shot rear suspension then you will ever know. I have worked on Yamaha snowmachines for 30+ years at dealerships and my own shop. You have no idea what your talking about half of the time and I think your one of those guy's that has to get the last word in no matter if you are right or wrong.

Vectors are one of the most reliable and dependable sleds out there, I would try getting the updated shock for your single shot skids, this shock has made a big difference on my sled and I believe we share the same skid, talk to your dealer he may be able to help you with the price or even get them replaced with the upgraded version by Yamaha.

I agree. I have the updated shock in my 2018 Vector & I like the way it rides compared to the original shock. I am 71, & this year so far have put on 2100 miles with no problems.

Nick is a great guy and a mileage animal like no other, I have known him for quite awhile. When he got his new Vector when he retired Claudia (his old one he set the record on) it came with the Singleshot skid. He hated it so bad he had Kip's shop install the older version CK skid.

I ride with Nick sometimes & he rode my 2018 Vector with the updated shock & he didn't seem to have a problem with it.

Just said he’s old, never said he was too old. Never too old for sleds. But some sleds are definitely out dated, some sleds need setting up properly, some have better shocks. And I personally think a cat chassis with a good shock package would be great for him and his wife.
Now what's this... some members got ragged on for talking about Doo and here you are promoting Cat, I think they should stick with the pure Yamaha sled and get the updated shock.

I'm impressed, sounds like you designed and engineered the single shot for Yamaha, Thanks its a pretty good ride, genius thinking on your behalf inventing the updated shock, and all this time I thought you worked for Cat!

Yeah the original stock shock rode harsh, the updated shock made quit a difference in the ride, glad to see you are putting some miles on, Yamaha did a lot of upgrades to the Vector engine in 16 its a great sled. thanks

I guess you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past 5 years, but if you haven’t realized yet, cat & Yamaha are in bed. Get over it. I’m promoting both. This website is for Yamaha and cat, they are basically one. So yes, I am promoting cat in a way. Don’t like it? Too bad, I don’t give a sh!t Say what you want, like Tpay said, you like to try and get the last word in whether your right or wrong. I’m done with ya.

Oh sorry.. must have read and misunderstood.. "Totall Yamaha" means

I will add my 2 cents to this single shot business. I have one in the 129 length. The shock the sled came with rode like an rx1, maybe worse. I am very pleased with the upgraded shock. I have swapped with other sleds. The rmotion does ride better but not dramatically. I just drove a 2016 8000 137 cat, I didn't find the sled rode any better than mine at the speed we were going, which was fairly fast and there was some late day trail bumps. I know the cat would be better in moguls in speed. I just can't get over how horrible they steer, stiff like the bushings are seizing.

i haven't even started on my supper yet as it took me that long to get through this.

i am happy with how my single shot rides with the updated shock at mrsled settings. it and the 11 xtx without the star kit are some of the best sleds i have ridden. just not enough hours on a winder/viper for me to form my opinion either way.

now just to find the secret for transfer on the single shot...........

Yes I have heard the updated shock is much better. I don't remember what year Nicks's newer Vector is but it's whatever the first year they came with the Singleshot....2016 I am guessing...? One of Don's (VX1R) friends is a former Yamaha employee and he has the last year anniversary Apex with that skid and he says it's much better than the early versions.
