Exactly!!A lot of us want a PURE Japanese snowmobile. Because we know we are getting our money's worth if we buy a PURE Japanese snowmobile. I am not rich and therefore I can't afford to buy these "disposable" snowmobiles that are out there. Is it too much to ask to want the fit and finish as well as the technology and dependability that is found in a PURE Japanese snowmobile? Am I somehow being rude and mean to want this???? After all its MY money right? Just look at how awesome the R1 motorcycle is. Yamaha is not a small back woods company. I am not going to feel sorry for Yamaha. There are people on here that are actually think we are somehow being a bully and that we should leave poor Yamaha alone simply because we want a PURE Japanese snowmobile. Please spare me the "awe poor Yamaha you guys are picking on this multi BILLION dollar company, you are so mean" Trust me, they have Noooooooo problem taking your money and selling you junk.

We are constantly working to improve quality. For 2021 we have removed the sight glass from the chain-case and replaced it with a check plug, we have replaced the hose that connects the front and rear heat exchanger with a braided hydraulic hose to prevent any issues with ice contact. The IQS models have been improved with different internal components. We are still working through the chain-case gear and driveshaft at this time.
See above comments for some of the 2021 changes.
The Spring Order programs for each manufacturer differ greatly. That being said we have actually seen an increase in our spring order Sidewinders not a decrease.
You will see a post come out this week with my dealer address explaining scale-ability. We talked about it before in the Japan VLOG.
SXVenom has been a collaborative project for many years. The biggest challenge for a 7/8 size snowmobile targeting new comers to the snowmobile industry is cost. Cost was a big target for this project and it was sensitive to significant changes.
Plastic tooling is very expensive, we could have made the unit more unique to Yamaha however this would have affected the price of the unit. Our designers and AC's designers worked closely in the development of the plastic for the SXVenom/Blast to ensure the unit was acceptable by both sides.
The Z4/Supra is a great example of how other manufacturing competitors work together to bring a vehicle to the marketplace.
SXVenom is a potent single. Its essentially half of a 800.
It employs the same exhaust power valve tech as its big brother.
65 hp class power.
In testing this unit did well over 70mph, a few week's back at altitude during snow shoot full size adults were seeing high 60s.
Weight is in the low low 400s dry.
Compare to other sleds? More Nimble, lighter weight, more playful. Shifting your weight around on this sled makes a big difference. It is a ton of fun to ride in the tight twisties, the power plant is responsive and has that high strung 2 stroke feeling. We position this vehicle as not just a youth/teen snowmobile but an affordable vehicle for new riders to get into snowmobiling. A couple of these for someone who has a cottage or cabin will get them into snowmobiling for reasonable money and kick off their passion for the sport.
Guys, We are here to answer comments and provide insight where to can to the loyal TY community. If people are just going to be negative and bash we will no longer be on here.
Kudos to you for coming on and answering questions. Safe to say this lineup has brought to the surface some frustrations from the Yami faithful. I think its important that you are here to explain the reasoning behind some of the decisions that you guys are making and have made. Expectations and realities are sometimes hard to match, and when they are not, you will get negativity. But you have to look at where the negativity is coming from. Its not coming from ski doo or Polaris riders, (cause who cares what they think). Its coming from your customers. The die hards! From the surface, this lineup doesn't meet expectations for most. However I do LOVE my winder! So IMO you have to "take" the bashing and negativity, and keep explaining to those who look at things from the surface. Snowmobiling takes a lot of money, it costs more to buy a Yamaha, and we wanna make sure its WORTH it to pay the extra.
If you're blue, order a 2021 yamaha! I've been on an alpha for two years now and came from a summit 850.. you won't get a better sled. Keep those sales up and you'll keep getting blue... No need to be negative as they now have a sled for everyone!

Kinger, is that yours or someone else's SW for sale on the SW/TCat FB page? Says it has a Precision EFI 280 tune and a blown motor out of Clear Lake, IA. The last two clues made me think of you. Clear Lake cannot be that big.

On a 14 Viper I bought new and so badly want to buy a new SW or Viper. The only thing holding me back are the known driveshaft and Chaincase failures. If I knew these were resolved it would be a no brainer. If they are are not then I am better to just take mine apart and rebuild and drive it another year. Why spend another 7-8k to have a machine with the same issue. Everything else aside those are the two issues that stop me from popping a new sled. Hard to imagine two huge issues like these that have been known about for 5 plus years are still there today.

Thanks for the Vid, but I can't help to think that it is CAT that is making these improvements, it seems Yamaha is just piggy backing on the new stuff offered in regards to the chassis and 800 motor and the 400 motor with Cat stamped in the motor casing and chassis in the Venom line, there was nothing really new that was offered by Yamaha that couldn't be purchased from your Partner for less money, Yamaha you have cheaped out, so why shouldn't your costumers? why should we remain faithful? to be somehow hypnotized through Yamaha promotion hype and without Yamaha really coming out and saying it that I am convinced the Cat 800 alpha is not really as good as the new 800 mountain max, for some reason I am left feeling that Yamaha has spent countless hours and millions and millions of dollars in producing this new line of sleds offered for 2021, the Yamaha motors which are great in these sleds have been around now for a few years so nothing new there, this is why there is some negative feedback, I realize now that Yamaha is out of the business of building sleds other than their motors, I now know Yamaha's direction for their snowmobile line, and I now know my direction.

Yamaha prefers to use engines that work across all product lines. SXS, ATV's, etc, it's a smart strategy.
With that said, they still use a 4 cyl engine in the latest R1 street bike.
I'm not saying it's happening and that people should keep faith in the 4 cyl coming back but there is the slightest chance they bring it back in the 800 class trail sled, the only other option would be to use the 800 ctec in trail form. BUT in trail format how important is weight savings and reliability of a 2 stroke compared to the 4 stroke? There is a large gap from the 120HP range to 200HP that needs to be filled in the trail format IMO.
Once the 1049cc is no more then the 998NA could be used in the 600 class trail sled and the 998T in the "hypersled" class I'll call it. This would limit the amount of engines needing to be produced to effectively 4 or 5 that can be spread into other product lines minimizing R&D on a new engines.
Beginner Class 120-200cc- SRX and Snoscoot
Entry Level 400CC - SX Venom, SX Venom Mountain, Transporter Lite
600CC Class - SR Viper with 998NA
800CC Class - 800Ctec or 998 4 Cylinder (new model, Transporter 800)
800CC Mountain Class - 800 Ctec
Turbo Class - 998T (Sidewinder)
Utility class- 998NA (VX Pro, RS Venture TF)
I'm not saying any of this is happening, this hypothetical and more to bring up conversation to maybe give some feedback back to Yamaha for some future changes on what people are looking for.

JMS@Yamaha will the 2021 have a fix for the chaincase bushing and driveshaft bearing? Appreciate your presence answering questions on here. Shows that Yamaha cares.

I would take that as a no, but they are aware and looking to solve those problems.
